I agree with you that a long term strategy is a reasonable thing for a game to have, but the situation we saw developing wasnt just that we didnt want people to have to plan ahead, rather it was that in the long term, when everyone in d1 gets a huge arena and are the only ones with enough fans to support it then it would be impossible for any promoting team to compete and they would be sent down immediately. We want a gap in divisions, but not an insurmountable gap, and the old system was headed toward and insurmountable gap and had to be changed... in addition we have he ongoing economic balance to keep in mind and this was a way to kill two problems with one change.

that being said, its not like arena size isnt important anymore... we believe building arenas will still be important, just that at some point its usefullness runs out. So for a team working its way up through the leagues, trading off winning now, versus building for the future is still a dynamic we believe is part of the game.. its just at the highest level we dont think it makes sense to have arena sizes just run away indefinitely.

is planned to avoid gap in the new system, in recognizing the merchandize income on the league above into the calculations - because in germany there are different in the quality of the second leagues, so that you would have a big difference when promoting from a weak league to a better one - where you are unable to plan ahead.

Just a question, you mean that international stars like NT players will generate more income, i got an player who was U21 world champion did this affect his popularity a bit or did his standing drop to normal immediately when he flew out of the team?

Don't know if he got back in the german nationalteam ->Cristoph Oberortner (377541) but he was a german NT for years and is probadly more popular in the community then my powerforward who will make 1-2 season in the NT even when he is retired.

What voting? From what I understand, the fixed number for TV money you see right now will change to another number which is re-calculated each season based on the overall quality of the players in the league.

Okey, that thread is too huge to read all but what i saw was that the BBs wanna have realistic Arena sizes about 17/18 000 like in real life?!?Is this correct??

If this is the future plan than please dont start with a 5 000 arena.Start with 100.Than thats how big a real life european 4/5 league basketball arena is.Or think about other ways like weekly maintenance or different types of,for example bleacher seats(cheap, luxory etc) or cinemas or or or.But if 20000 is the maximum in the future, building in the arena is not longer a part of the game.Because all teams will have the same size very quick!!

Cheers

i am not sure if that will happen as fast as you think. it takes a lot of money to build your stadium. and in the divisions at the bottom you don't earn enough to build it up as fast as you want.

what worries me (and a couple of friends) is this :
"When these changes take effect, teams will be allowed to downsize their arenas if they wish and sell the materials they used in construction for the price they paid to construct them."
could we get just a bit more info? will they get 100% of what they paid or the cost of idk, one vip box is 30% materials 70% workers and the teams will get only 30% back?
I ask because teams with 30k seats can easily downgrade do 18k and earn 10M or more... the biggest arenas can get 20M+...

they also spend it, and they don't get their investment back till today, so it is the most fair thing ... If they invest in rooster, and have more succes they will have more money today i think, even if this the more risky way. At least they have the players, and they don't have to fire them.

please show me at least one, the most expensive arena at beginn of the season, has cost les 15M.

I'm doing my springtime (well almost summer time) cleaning so don't have time to check but the thing that they didn't get the investment back is wrong, they had huge attendance and a lot of money from that, which in turn allowed them to buy stronger players, and now selling those spaces back will give them the means to buy even stronger ones... well then they will have problems paying the salaries and will have to sell the players... yeah... I know I'm not making much sense, must be all the dust and vacuuming that's messing with me)

next time please check before ;) Did you count how long it takes to get the investment back?

compare the income through VIP(it succes independent, and i think the comparisation with the biggest arena wasn't bad), and think about that the arena was exploding the last two seasons. And last season the difference was smaller, and the main part of the lounges come through that.

If they don't reduce it to the 5-10k level, of the arena most arenas aren't long above the sensefull size and the additional income is low. Did he have 7,5 seasons to get his investment back, this was the time it takes in the last season?

Did you have time if you build now, or short before the changes get announced? Without even knowing that you hit the boarders?
