I'm mostly just tired of the BBs constantly pushing us to make well-rounded players. It's becoming ridiculous at this point. We don't have to be told how to play a game.

Now it's gotten so absurd that they would punish all players, even the ones that were making well rounded players to begin with, just so they can handicap the guys who make huge salary monsters.

Nice.

Here's why I hate this argument. High-salary mono-monsters aren't realistic irl. Even the worst shooter will make one every once in a while, and even the worst passer will get the occasional assist. Even Yinka Dare ended up with a few.

Also, once again irl, players may work on one skill more than others as they practice, but they still practice all their skills, in drills, scrimmages, and games. BB is simulating this. Do you really think a center who plays the position every night but doesn't "train" shot blocking won't be able to improve his shot blocking attributes?

If BBs are pushing to make the game, and its players, more realistic, I applaud their efforts. I don't think this change was implemented carefully enough, but the jury's out on whether it makes BB better or not.

Well yes, you're choosing a group of players to get more specialized attention from the coaches. You can do team training, but then everyone gets smaller effects.

Why can't BB be realistic? Aside from the player faces of course.

If you want something your way, then why don't you create a game that can fulfill all of your wishes in a basketball game?

Friday morning, Phil logs in and his beloved Chauncey Kidd has popped on passing!! Now Chauncey has 16 passing, and his salary will skyrocket!!

And instead of selling next season a PG with 120k salary and 15 passing he will be able to sell a PG with 122k salary and 16 passing!! He will be able to sell the player for some hundreds of thousands more than he expected. Great news after all!!


Damn my ''belorussian English"! You've probably misunderstood me. It doesn't hurt most of the users. It hurts the users who have spent lots of time and lost lots of games in order to get the rare player the liked. Now you don't need to use your center at PG for 2-3 weeks in order to train passing for one level. Most likely passing will be trained itself during the season while training normal C.

I'm not sure about this. If it is just 10% for a random skill who knows if the C would ever get a passing pop. It would require a bit of luck for that to pop to happen, so I wouldn't use the term "most likely " and it would still be advisable in my opinion to train passing on that C anyways.

Maybe the option to turn cross training off for certain players would make sense.


I like the cross training system, but i think we could have the chance to choose it as a weeky option.
Another ideia, is to have coaches with and coaches without that speciality.

Not sure...

If we talk about real SF, you will need at least 4-5 levels more in almost every skills. But let's take an example. You have a young 18 year old player and you want to make him a SF. You start by training him outside (for example) during 3-4 seasons and you're lucky, you allready had 2 pops in RB. It's nice because now you only need 3 more levels in RB instead of 5 levels. So you start to train him in RB but it takes more time than before (because cross training). And Finally because you were lucky to get 2 "random" pops, you have won only 2 weeks of RB training.

So does cross-training make easier the training of real all-around SF? I don't think so. But if you have a young C who is allready 7 in OD and if you want to make him a PF, maybe he will become 8-9 in OD without any pressure training.

So cross-training can help but not too much. I think it could be a good compromise but we need time to discover it :)


And what will happen when this SF has a salary of 100k(for example) and his worst skill is around 10? If you continue training him, you will have high sublevels, it happens when you train a SF, it always have high sublevels. You will be happy to watch he pops in JS or rebounds and next season paying him a bigger salary?

With a monoskilled training this system has 0 impact, with multiskilled SF you will have unpredictable(well not really, you will know what skills have high sublevels) skills poping up, when maybe you don't want.
