Don't take my opinion for granted- I'm only in my first full season, but from my point of view...

I have 4 SG's/ PG's
One has 5 JS and 7 JR, 8 Handling
One has 7 JS and 7 JR, 7 Handling
One has 8 JS and 7 JR, 7 Handling
One has 4 JS and 8 JR, 4 Handling

The 4/8 one is far lower shooting percentage than my other players, but is still very good at shooting- the one that performs best is actually the 5/7 one on most occassions, with the 7/7 one and 8/7 ones giving me 40 points in a game once each- the 7/7 one being the top scorer during any game since I owned the team.

I think JR is valuable if you have good JS to back it up, at least equal to the JR of your player, but I think having good Handling helps just a WEEE bit as far as shooting 3's, don't know how, but it seems that the better grip your player gets on the ball the better shot?

These players are my best shooters. Their JS/JR in the following order is:

Enn Heinsaar-12/9: Shoots pretty badly haha... the latest game i had with him was his best, otherwise actually he's pretty bad XD. His experience is only awful so that could say a bit.

Txema Robles- 9/7: A great overall shooter, really torches the 3s, but this could be due to his better experience (mediocre) and he's much more balanced in skills than my SG is.

Laurent Gros: 9/7: This trainee is another great 3 point shooter, but his jumpers aren't too great. Again this could be due to experience (atrocious haha). He's quite balanced too.

So my guess could be to really BALANCE out the player's skills and keep JS only 2 above or lower than your JR (maybe 3 above for an SF).

so easily means that JS matters most than JR, for all what I got is that JR doesn't really mean that higher you got will give your player's effectiveness beyond the arc but it just indicates that your player will get longer shots than usual :) just like my SF which is my top scorer with his JS at 9 & JR at 6 but he is more effectively made 3s than my SG who is 8 JR & 8 JS :)
and what about experience? does it really affects your shots?

Well...its true...and I think the game engine is at fault in this case. Its mostly very accurate in simulating the real game but not here. Guys with good range but not such great shooting (Sabonis, Robert Horry, Camby maybe?) should not take so many shots. They should only take shots from mid range or 3 pt land when they have an open look. And then the % of those shots made would be higher. So a guy with higher JR and lower JS should be taking less shots but should be taking them from all distances from the basket...for example, when the defence doubles on your good shooter and leaves them open from distance...

They certainly shouldn't be taking 10 shots in a game and missing them all. Whats the point of the JR skill's usefulness then?

Just to put my two cents in i have this players:

1.15/13 - FGs:0.441 3pt:0.375
2.16/11 - FGs:0.468 3pt:0.380

both playing SG

3.11/9 - FGs:0.469 3pt:0.459

playing SF

All players have an average of 10-11 games so far this season.Does seem that JR is far less important that JS but stil considering that a balance between this two will make him a valuable SG.

You can't compare player statistics since they would have played against different defences even in the same game as they would match up against different opponents. Also you need to take into consideration of things like offensive tactics, gameshape, enthusiasm, and offensive flow as they will influence shooting performances.

I probably miss some other important variables as well but anyways, there are just too many variables you need to take into consideration when comparing statistics as to why a player may be performing better than another. At most it can only be used as a guideline.

Of course i totally agree with you but i was just saying this just as rough estimate compared with this skills.The factors are so many that you couldn't take them all in account.
Just as an addition to my first post:
I play outside orientated offense(motion most of all) so this will have a big impact on the number of outside shoots.
All 3 players have high driving skill (min 11) don't know how important is this to the inside shoots percentage.
GS i usually take care of my players minutes and so they only have respect. for the beginning of the season and after that only strong and proficient for all matches.
Offensive flow is average(low - high) very rarely mediocre and respect(only for CT)
Enthusiasm as I've seen this season with an average value of 6-8 doesn't affect that much the 3pt shoots(not as much as GS) but has a very good effect on FGs.This is only my assessment i could be wrong.

Roughly the player 2 and 3 that i have for the last 2 season the percentage of shoots has been almost the same of course with small variations seeing that I've promoted.

Guys.... don't forget about the opponent defense, if you have a good very good 3 points shooter but your rival has played with his best ODer covering your shooter... his ratings are going to be low. I am talking for my personal experience, as the 4 best team in Colombia, I have a 3 points shooter with JS in 17 and JR in 13, he has a good opportunities when the opposite defense isn't so strong... but sometimes other teams has a very strong OD and simply make looks so poor my player.

i would go 14-12, and if i work on other Pops with this player i would even preffer 13-13 or 12-14 because Range is harder to train ;)

PS: I used 26 like you do :)

I am talking about finished product, so dont use as a factor the training.
