It really doesn't make any sense. I guess if you have the perfectly designed and balanced team according to the GE that the Base Offense is the way to go, but everyone has a different offensive scheme.

Some teams may be balanced, but want to rely on an outstanding point guard and run Push the Ball. Others might have a balanced attack, but an outstanding perimeter shooter and run Patient.

Etc, etc.

i believe the thing it is saying, that if you play something different then base offense you get bonus and malus on certain skills, but the "amount" of maluses is bigger then the bonuses.

Btw i would uses inside or outside tactics as examples ;)

the advantage of 2-3 is that the C is always in the paint for reb, block shot and defense
the wrong assumption for 2-3 is having the SF inside will help the paint a lot (from the rating)

the problem for 2-3 is not dribble penetration because the C is always there in the middle to recover
2-3 is slow to react to ball swing and therefore leave open shooters on the weak side

It's just an example of extremely poor deductive reason and logic.

It's not susceptible to layups. Why would you play 2-3? To counter LI.

LI = Driving layups.

Most people won't even play 2-3 against an even neutral offense, and against an outside offense it's considered suicide.

I highly doubt the Motion offense would replicate the success of driving layups as the LI offense does against the 2-3.

That said, it'd destroy you from outside.

Yes, that is true. After listening to all those people complain about 2-3 allowing driving guards and open 3s, I analyzed many games and comparing 2-3 to man to man, the number of drives by the guards were quite close, therefore shows that almost everyone who claims 2-3 is crap is talking crap. However, it does leave your team vulnerable to a lot of 3s...

Well, a lot of threes is what you give up when playing 2-3 zone. But I would prefer that as opposed to giving a lot of inside shots
