All we know is that managers are facing tough times theses days, with always losing, not getting enough attendence or paying trash players too much $$$$$. So giving $$$ to all participants in the playoffs will help get them out of debt or give them more $$$ for the bills.Who's with me? This would help get managers motivated to always finish in the top 4 in their conference. And there are some conferences that are lop-sided like 1 time i saw 5-11 team in the playoffs nd suspect tanking happened in that conference. Only 2 teams had great records. In the other conference there was a dog fight with 7 of the 8 teams being competive and had reords like 11-5. This is just.............

I totally agree. I hate that tanking is a legitimate strategy to improve one's team. Even GM-Jason admits to tanking last season so that he could get back to DII with a strong team. There needs to be a significant penalty to deter managers to field uncompetitive teams.

3rd/4th should be worse off than 1st/2nd is one thing, 3rd/4th being worse than 5th (arguably?) is another thing. You should not mix them together. I can't see what the thread starter proposed is taking any advantage away from finishing 1st/2nd, yet you keep dwelling on it. The big advantages of 1st/2nd are still there, HCA and higher attendance income. It's just that those who enter the PO benefit as opposed to finishing 5th or lower.

so in Israel D.I we have the same problem 3 teams want to finish 5 and rather finish 6 then 4 i am going to finish 3 and i feel cheated from it

the solution is simple in my eyes as the problem come from the fact that 5 place do not pay sallerys for one week (in my league it is abut 700 at average) if you move the economic update till after the first game of the playoff AI Tuesday-Wednesday you remove the problem as the 5 place get to pay the same sallerys that 3-4 place pay if they drop from the playoffs after one game

the one problem with it is the fact that it "screw" the team that lose in the semi

Get your facts firs then you can distort them as you please. Mark Twain

BB's needs a quick solution to solve the play-off system income.

Look what happened in my division in the east conference;

http://www.buzzerbeater.com/league/193/overview.aspx

-Atl Estacion II 3 weeks ago, he was at the top and decided to sell his team and tank(it's the third season he does exactly the same strategy, tanking at the end of the season)

-GMA Team that was the leader of the conference, decided to tank 1 week before play-off.

-mussoles before play-off sold his inside players.

-YoguR de PlaTaNo that before today games was on the 4th position, decided to give up the match and end on the 5th position.

So the team that was on the 5th position Atl. Winchester, now will end in 4th position and will arrive to the final of the league, but his chances to promote are really low.

On my conference Cuatro Gatos some weeks ago was the leader, but 3 weeks ago decided to tank and give up the season, even if he was doing the things right.

It's really sad to see that the managers prefers the economy than having a chance on the promotion. Every underdog team that makes a good run on league when they see they won't demote, they start tanking.

I've seen other leagues happening the same, the competition is really on a bad shape.

Is that BB-Marin what you call a long term-strategy?

Playing 3/4 of the competition at 100% and then tanking so in 2-3 seasons you are able to pay salaries that doubles the others and you promote, not because you are a better manager, but yes because you were a loser manager when you had to be?

This game is turning about who can afford more expensive players and the rest is about how you can earn that money to pay the expensive players.

If it's the third season he does this, doesn't it feel like it's not really working? Or...

He wants to promote with a team that have chances to stay in DV1.

Through this seasons he was able to;

-Make much bigger his arena
-Bought nice trainees
-He has around 3M in the bank.

So next season he will be able to afford a team with high salaries and i most sure he promotes...

This is so sad. BB needs to the game more competitive so that more people can stay. Like people will always want to gun for the playoff $$$$ when next season starts, and then use the $$ to improve. I'm about to do a half season tanking deal cause I got too old players and need to find younger talent. Next season I'm selling my 30+ yr olds and trying to get a lot of profit to buy a 18-19 yr old trainee and then a 23 yr old with allstar+ po. So need to balance my team with age, that's my biggest weakness. But tanking really needs to stop.............
