First, I think that it should both - attendance and merchandise, but it is not really important - money is money...

One point you've missed - the level (skill and potential) should also be part of the formula, as fans will not be exited to see just any draft player playing, and as that may cause users to invest more at the draft (which is a main feature in BB-managing).

One last thing - like other affects on this game (like training) - the affect is expected to be lower as the draft player becomes veteran.
A team w/o a draft player will not get this extra X$.
A team with a draft player from current draft will get those X$. [Two players means more $... etc.]
A team with a draft player from previous draft (1 season ago) will get less than those X$.

Doesn't 10K or even 20K sounds very few (comparing to the total income of a team) for having so much drafted players you are using?
For me it sounds just that.

And again, I want to point out again that I will also expect that the income from the same drafted player will get lower as the time passes.

isn't it pretty much for unproven theorys? I mean i really doubt that Shaquill O'neal(LA), nowitzky etc are unpopular just ebcause they ain't drafted or would be more popular, when they would be drafted. Or that Jones or Beaubois bring in lot of fans, cause they are drafted by Dallas?

Do I need to explain the meaning of "More" and "Less" words?
A good player will cause fans to come, due to the success he brings.
But, a player who grew at the club (or as drafted) will bring much more fans than a player with the same skills.

When Greg Oden signed his contract there had been much more hype around his team, than if a similar player would have joined from another team.

It is a fact that fan (and human being in general) will fill much more close to someone that he has connection with.
A player that you hated (because he played at another team and even more if he played at your most hated rival) will never get the same fans' response like a player who came from with in the club.

since he was considered as good(since you use that as argument you properly know what that means), but when they for example would traded him for durant and a second rounder, would that mean they don't like durant the same way?

was there so much hype? Wouldn't there so much hype if they get a free agent? They could make a lot of extra attention, when you look for example to miami ;) But yes seeing his injury list after the draft, you can say the expectation was to high for him. So maybe they life up a hype the first 2-3 month(i believe then also the Kwame Brown hype was gone, but i really doubt that he bring up more fans in washington then in LA or memphis ...

When they come from the own youth team, i would understand your point a bit ... Since people follow there career for a longer period.

This just summarizes it all, as there is no much difference between a player who came straight from collegue to your own team and one who came from your youth club.

BTW - Lebron, Wade and Bosh are all top-players. Do you think that the fans see them all at the same way? No they don't.
What about - Rondo, Pierce, Allen and Garnet?
Who do you think the Clippers fans preffer - Griffin or CP3?

there is a big difference, since on a own youth team, he is already in your area, most likely at your games(since usually they hand out cards for free, and a pro sportler is often intrested in his sport), and you are sure that your club give him a chanche when he get good enough(so the fans debate early if he fgonna make it).

if you now look on a drafted player the player is most likely raised in another part of the country, has no connection to the club and didn't know if he should post "go buzzISR" on his twitter account when they win, since he could also land on the loosing team. the fans don't follow up the promising player of there home team8since there are usually >90 player who might get drafted), couldn't watch their games since their aren't in the area etc.

sorry, im not sure what u mean here
5 balls in familiar with the star players

u mean when u drafted them, they were 5 ball players?

im not sure what my players were when i drafted them, it was so long ago. season 11 i think!

But i do have a lv 5 PR manager as well. I upgraded him about 2 seasons ago, and didnt really notice the difference in merchandising. maybe an extra $1k.

its difficult to tell with all this though, because merchandise is made up of so many other factors.

I think that it is noting to look down on. I will be getting 20k extra every week of the season. 280k extra just for having trained some of my own drafted players. Sure its not much, but if you got a lot more i think tanking would be a more attractive tactic since that is what often is needed to grab a great draftee. An if you got say 50k extra every week you'd get 700k extra every season as a bonus. And making tanking more attractive really doesn't sound like something you would stand behind =)
The affect of losing money (due to lack of audience because of aq losing team...) should create an equilebrium.
As there is already tanking, it proves that the lose due to a losing team is not high enough.
And I "grat" you for joining the "group agianst tanking"...
