I agree. This game is mostly about the market......I bet every single team that was new, 1-3 seasons later, all their originals/draftees are gone. People nowadays get players from TL, like I'm limited in the school year, except sat and sun, where I mostly go to the market...if you look at the players I bought, 80-90% of the players I got were from the weekends, except Revfi, when I was absent, and then late night bids, like Canals.....anyways, managers that are new/don't have time for TL can't get nowhere in the game. Players that are online constantly (like me) can go from trash team to champions in a week......it just takes the patience in the TL, and the right time.......like I was temted to get on while at school.....but you always miss a player, and you just goto face it......don't be crying over the ones you can't/didn't get, this game is about being tough, matuerity, decisions, and time. Also luck. TL requires luck/time/decisions, like ""can this guy contribute to my team"" or, """is he a good enough trainee""" or, will he be the star of my team""" one time I just got a player for 25k, he was old, but had one good skill, I didn't even imagined he'd become the star of my team....he got 5,700 salary, far below my C. But luck can do something........but this game reqiures TL, and there're thousands of players out there, you just have to search.

Interesting topic! 1st off I resent the claim that teens have no lives. That is so not true some of us do have jobs while trying to stay in the top 5 in school. We have busy lives too.

Anyway, I agree with what GM-Perpete was saying. The other day while bidding on some rookies, I knew what my limit was so I started pushing the price up. It started at 43k but soon after a couple 1,000K bids I started going up by 15-25k until I reached my limit. More then likely the other guy is going to keep just outbidding you by 1,000 so push it.

Lastly, the bidding system can be frustrating when you have things to do and you keep getting outbid but I think it is the fairest way to do things.

The FK system works this way:

1. All auctions start at 0$.
2. You can only see the average of the top ten bids
3. There's the 3 minute increase for the last 3-minute offers, but it doesn't affect much.

I believe this system provides better results that the actual BB system.

starting bid have there sense, they protect you from server struggles and when you sell player in times with few online user where the prohability is smaller that two players are online who wants to pay a normal price.

With point 2 of your suggestion, i believe less then 2 bidders harm the final price in the off times even more since in my imagination the lowest highest bid reduce the average a lot them.

once I've been on a four-manager bidding war, on Revfi, I won it. My strategy to getting a guy I want;
1. Look and see if the price is reasonable.
2. See his stats to make sure he can contribute in some way to your team.
3. Make sure that is a needed position.
4. Make sure there is no one in that position. (ex. trainees)
5. Make sure you'll be there near auction's end.
6. Make a bid with 10 minutes left on the bid.
#6 is what I call snipers--people who swoope in at the last minute to win the auction. <--(I do that a lot) If you use all those steps, you can build a team.

I'm not implying that this should be implemented the exact same way, but there are some things worth discussing. I actually believe that being able to watch the average of the top bids is better (for price fairness) than seeing only the top offer. Since the price starts at 0, there's a very high probability that almost every player will have more than 10 offers (it doesn't necessarily has to be the same quantity).

is that really meaningful, when i like to buy a player i usually bring his price into a realistic dimension. Which means when he started at 1k, and had some bookmarking bids my bid would be around 100k and 1000k, the other below 10k so the average bid is around 100k besides the existing offer from 1000k which is the only one who matters.

Not to mention when a player like Lan4ik

Whom has bids on 10+ similar players you are looking at. does nothing but buy up an entire roster full of the guys you would want to train. and then doesn't train half of them, or trains them all in stamina/free throws or something idiotic like that.

I start off betting from the get go as high as I can, until I'm at where I won't spend more. If I get the guy, awesome, if not (95% of the time or more) well, it sucks. Between 2 jobs, a wife, kids, I can't have constant attention for a bid war in 3 minutes. It'd be different if the page maybe updated itself every time a bet was received, or made a *ping* sound, or something

ultimately if everyone listed their players for more near the price they want as apposed to starting 1 buck, then there would be less last minute bidding, then again most listed players for over 1dollar never sell anymore...and the economy is seriously messed up...there are dozens and dozens and dozens of players available with any imaginable skillset now and NO BUYERS for anything.
its amazing how many skills these players have and how little anyone will pay for them.... I think you need to spend 3times as much training players as anyone would buy them for. Buyers market now....but it does require bidwarring....

As always this game is aobut being someone constantly next to a computer. If you ahve a RL and don7t live next to a computer...this game sucks.

I agree to disagree with the bolded part.
In the last 3 hours I have stayed up, when I should be asleep to be fresh from work, to watch my bids of 68k on players that "go for 10-60k" THREE DIFFERENT TIMES, be out-bid and someone else gets the guy.

There are buyers if a player gets bid on, but if no one bids on the guy, people assume he's not worth it. I feel like OK.... NEW IDEA

If you didn't bid on the player in either day 1 or day 2 of him being on the TL. You can't bid on him in the last 5 minutes on day 3. so if you want him, you got to bid over-the-top instead of this, minimum higher bid BS crap
