I think instead the true cause of his "not making money" may be:

1. Gameday - receive revenue
2. take that revenue, buy more arena seats
3. Weekly update, why i no haz money?1!?!1

Well, that and a stretch of a lot of road games right now.

Yeah, the stupid non-native speaker I am, I made a sloppy statement. Even if I made more per week I would haz no money after the weekly update, because I use all availiable funds to build my arena. Difference is I would "lose" one season less until my team became somewhat good enough to win games.

The question nobody in this thread could answer so far is: why do established teams need to be protected from new teams catching up?

If I was a unexperienced manager, getting blown out by a regular treadmill team in my league that has recently bought a player for 700k (would need a whole season to save that much money without expanding the arena) - what would I think? kkthxbye, I am going nowhere in this game, no sense sticking around - lets play sthg else.

Thats why the new player retention in small countries is close to zero. Was for years now, and will be forever if the enthusiasm among developers to change the system remains non-existant.

Don't worry about me, I'll get there eventually - status quo sucks for those who get discoured and quit and for those at the top losing interest because nobody can challenge them. (just imagine how long I have to save money at this pace to buy a top tier SF See you again in 2016!)

Maybe one solution could be, not to have different arena size depending on the starting division but to have different default tickets prices depending on the starting division.

ROFL

You don't need to resort to bad faith.
The game is about building your franchise so no, you are not given 10M at the start. You don't seem to like this kind of games.

You will soon have loads of cash and with your experience, I don't believe you can't see it.
You don't even try to train two players despite that you could easily do it in your situation. You know that you don't need it, it will take many seasons for your trainees to reach the level required and in the meantime, you will have already bought all the players you need anyway. It's a matter of 2 or 3 seasons for you to win D.II.

You will be able to catch the best teams in D.I quicker, much quicker than in large leagues, if anything they are "less protected". Old teams are much less protected than before with the rising market.

Small leagues could do with improvements even if it's a rehashed topic. Again, choose your arguments well and make your case.

I was making 50k per week because my ticket prices were screwed up (thx buzzermanager) and the arena expansion took a while.

I am not asking for 10 million for the start, gtfo if you dont want to add something useful to the discussion.

I am training three players. Figure out yourself who those might be.

It will take around four to five seasons (from start) to contend in Div II, possibly three if the salary floor was non-existant

If I was in a bigger country, I had competitive minor leagues and could enjoy playing other teams of similar strenght. Its not about reaching DIV I and winning there, its about reducing the gap from new to old teams. Here I get my fair share of blowouts and no fun at all from games.

Please don't forget that the teams sitting on top in Austria potentially make more money than me, simply because the league is not strong enough to force them to dig deep into their savings. So catching up in a short time is an illusion.

When I was in DIVI I made around 1-200k per week, despite being a contender.

BC Wels, in your league, started in s18. By season 20, he was a PO team in II after having spent a full season in III so making less than what you are making now. Currently, he is 10-7 with a 100k roster which is probably still under the salary floor. So you could have a more interesting season, you are chosing power-gaming, the game is not forcing you.

in Bundesliga :
BB Chicago Bulls, the leader in conf 2 started in s12 and has reached the PO every season since s18.
Lightning Ravens, 2nd in conf 1 started in s13 and was in the finals last season.
Somehow, they have caught up. Quick. Quicker than that would be very quick.

Not sure many top teams have savings, this has changed with the stop put to the rising market.

Out of your 4 players, I don't know who you are training for the future of your franchise. Who is the 3rd slot ? Is it the 24 yo with a salary of 3.7k or the 27 yo with a salary of 3k ?
You are not training Bacardi for your franchise. Your will trade him for more cash.
Only with Kastner you are building something.

You are free to play this way but then it's normal that you get bored.

If you were in a bigger country, after 1.5 season, you would be in the same situation, in a bot league, winning every game or at the first competitive level getting beatings after beatings. Only it could last longer.

I started in D.IV and needed 8 seasons to reach D.I. You will need 2-3 seasons with far weaker team than mine at the time of promotion. When I promoted, I had a team that would beat the leading team in your league by 40 points or more probably. So I don't know what are you complaining about...I mean, you were able to double your arena seats in less than one season - I needed three seasons to do that. What a crybaby.
