Thank you for this great post :)

Jerseys are not a trivial addition.
One just have to look at the banners. They are specifically designed for BB, nice and creative, created by talented users. They help immersion in the game and to create a bond with the team. They give character and life to the franchise. They are important, I can't imagine BB without them.

Except for the most "scientific" players, it is important to have these elements in the game to let imagination flow from them. Most of us, we create stories in our little heads about the players and the team, yes, admit it !
BB is far from being just a little number crunching game, it's a playgroung for the mind to wander and make dreamy long-term plans.
I am not interested in fancy graphics. I am strongly for dev time invested in the GE and the game mechanics first but not to the point of completely overlooking basic "dressing".

Now, I don't think the BBs are opposed to jerseys, I don't remember them claiming so. It's more about lack of skills and technical solutions. I don't think they need to be convinced, I may be wrong.
It's one of the most wanted feature and asked for a long time. It's not arguable that it wouldn't appeal to a large number of users/supporters.

Yes count me in. Jerseys and the color customized court that can't be too difficult to set up.

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

I want jerseys...even if it's just a supporter feature, it would be nice to see it on other teams.

Another selling point for Jerseys as a feature is I think its pretty obvious/reasonable it would be supporter only...and the more they do to spruce up that supporter package...the more supporters they get. New users would come in, see those Jerseys and think...wow that is cool I want one!! and then put their money on the table.
You make a valid point. I don't remember how long you get to test out the supporter features when you first start out, but the effect of losing them would weigh heavier, I think. Choosing colours and design would be one of the first thing I'd do after checking my initial roster. Wham Bam, 1 supporterpackage sold.

ONe issue though could be how its implemented and the quality. IF they were holding this off to ensure that when it is released its of a good quality, I could accept that. I think they should enlist one of the many volunteers that's been making banners for them....maybe offer them like lifetime supporter package in exchange for help making Jersey feature or something along those lines.
There is talent right here among us. What you need is some patterns to choose from (Graphic) and someone to program some buttons to change colours on them. Example "Pattern" (for example 1-8 in a dropbox), "Colour 1" (colour scheme dropbox), "Colour 2" (colour scheme dropbox) and "Color 3" (colour scheme dropbox). For a more complex, but playful solution see https://kuler.adobe.com/#create/fromacolor, although I would not like to be the programmer for that one.
