Also, is a year's worth of having the team 3 seasons or 4? I hope they don't end it mid-season

This is a good point. Also, what if a person joins partway through the season? If the year goes for 4 full seasons, will they have the chance to finish out the 4th season, or will the term end exactly 4 seasons from the team's creation?

They said that everyone that pays now will get four full seasons. I assume people that join part way through a season will also expire part way through a season. How else can you handle this in a fair and logical way?

I'd solve this problem by changing the 1 year second team to a 4 season term (as one year is 52 weeks, while four seasons are 56) and letting new teams join at the start of the next season after the payment.

While logical that is a bad business model. One week into a new season you are going to make teams that want to join wait 13 weeks? That will cost the company money and Utopia managers. Would you join a game if you had to wait 13 weeks to start playing? I am sure they will not do it this way.

Don't act like everybody would buy second team in the first week of the season. Experienced managers will buy second team in the last week of the season anyway. But if you buy yours randomly, you have 7.1% chance that you have to wait 13 weeks, 14.3% chance that you have to wait 12+ weeks, 21.4% chance to wait 11+ weeks, etc.

I'd feel it even worse that an unexperienced manager would buy second team in the middle of the season and he gets a team with 1-10 and spending 7 weeks with no hope for PO or any reasonable purpose. Even worse that you get a team just before PO and your second team expires just before PO as well.

Did I miss something or couldn't you always avoid this problem by extending the 2nd team option prior to it expiring much like everyone does with their supporter?

I feel it bigger "problem" to expire mid season than starting mid season and I think my way could solve this (both).
Also I'm pretty sure that lots of people wanna try this feature and it's kinda annoying that you start in the beginning of the first season and - because of the 1-year term - your team will expire just before the 4th season's PO. If someone will be like "ok, if I get to the second division this season, I'll extend" it's pretty not fair that he has to buy another 1 year because of that 4 weeks.

To me it's really just a theoretical question but some others might be thinking like this.

I'd just suggest that anyone who joins partway through a season would have the entire season counted. So, you get 4 seasons (instead of 1 year), and if you join in between seasons, it'd mean you receive less than a year. I'd hate to be playing and having to continuously wonder if teams are instantly going bot because their manager decided not to renew.
