And I also believe that former B3 champions should NOT have guaranteed participation in all future editions. They should receive an invitation to the next edition only, so they can defend their title.
Couldn't agree more! Otherwise you'll get in trouble in the next couple of seasons when many spots are taken by winners.
I however do not agree with the point made that some countries should have more participants than others. The champions league of all is the best example of this! Taking a dutch teams for example: It evolved into a system where the whole team of PSV eindhoven is bought for half the money than what real madrid is willing to spend on cristiano ronaldo. This is (besides differences in tv money) largely due to the fact that large countries have more spots to qualify. PSV could only marginally compete due to the fact that they qualify every year. Ajax and feyenoord are now doomed because there is only one certain spot available. In a major league you can finish 4th and still qualify. This brings more money to the major leagues every year which means that differences between large and small countries grow larger every year. This is something I do not want to see happening, you'll have to earn your spot as mentioned above!
