I have failed my countrymen.

I stand before you humbled, beaten down, and destroyed.

In a game we absolutely didn't have to win, we barely got beat despite playing TIE vs Normal, and the humiliation is too great to bear.

If he's a farm team that doesn't care about results it's easy.

No players in Brasil belong to farm teams.

Edit: actually I don't want any arguments with JuicePats anymore. Good luck with your goal of finishing 2nd place. We'll do the best we can to help you accomplish that. :D

Should we also be insulted by a Brazilian who refuses to call us by our normal adjectival form?

Why should you be insulted by that?

People in the other American countries are also called Americans. Your country is the USA, and although you may call it "America", the rest of the world calls "America" the continent that goes from Alaska and Canada all the way down to Brasil, Argentina and Chile.

I mean no offense when I call you "USA American", and I certainly wouldn't expect you to be offended by that. I am just differentiating from Americans from the USA and Americans from America (the continent).

My fiancee is an USA American and she understands when I make such differentiation perfectly.

While your tone may be off base, your point is correct. In my opinion, this was a statement game in pool. It may not mean a whole lot (and means a whole lot less since the "ahem" belt was gone by the time of the match), but it sure would of went a long way into the NT coach claim for better results.

Granted, I am not in the inner circle of the thought process so there may of been talk there to the ones that are, and I have sure not cared about regular season matches at times, so I can't argue with the logic.

We should of beaten them. Talking about what we are going to do to you is different than doing it and so far the results do speak for themselves.

"Statements" don't help us qualify for the Worlds. Advancing does. Advancement had been clinched after the 3rd of 5 1st round games, and there was absolutely no reason to do anything but TIE last night.

Winning last night's game had absolutely no bearing on whether or not we advanced, or how far we advanced. Building enthusiasm was the only thing to accomplish last night, and we did so.

It may not mean a whole lot (and means a whole lot less since the "ahem" belt was gone by the time of the match)

Right, in favor of a new format that is much more inclusive (and one in which Brazil likely starts off with one of the belts).

but it sure would of went a long way into the NT coach claim for better results.

We simply will not value a meaningless 1st round game over qualifying for the Worlds. The only result to be achieved this season is winning an Americas semifinal. Building enthusiasm last night was the way to achieve that goal, not to waste it by Normalling.

Granted, I am not in the inner circle of the thought process so there may of been talk there to the ones that are, and I have sure not cared about regular season matches at times, so I can't argue with the logic.

No one needs to be in any "inner circle" to realize what the proper strategy was last night. Are you tellimg me that if you had clinched a playoff spot, and could not better yourself in your last game, you'd do something besides TIE to make some sort of "statement"?

We should of beaten them.

Given the fact that we TIEd against a Normal and lost by only 13, it suggests to me that if we really wanted to win at the expense of enthusiasm, we could have.

Talking about what we are going to do to you is different than doing it and so far the results do speak for themselves.

We're in the 2nd round with maximum enthusiasm - the best possible outcome there is for the USA.

That's a set-in-stone fact.

Why burn enthusiasm that will be useful in future matches, to win what amounts to a scrimmage?

A meaningless game that can be TIE'd to build for future games is a no-brainer choice.

You forgot to mention that the result established who your adversaries were going to be in the second round.

You are playing against two undefeated group winners, while we are not. Sure, your enthusiasm is a little better right now, but your group is harder. So things are more complex than what you want to suggest. You shouldn't act like the way you see things is always the correct one. And enthusiasm has a upper bound, so it will be about the same in your so important semi-final.

And don't say you would have win it IF you've done something differently. That's another loser attitude. Saying that you "didn't want to win" or that you "would have won it if I wanted to" is what 5 year old kids usually say.

Let's do it like this: you get to decide when something is meaningful or not when you actually WIN something, ok? Because Americas runner-up and 1'st round of the Cup doesn't really cut it. Those were REALLY meaningless results.
