Why would you give the top division more fuel to the "we need to make more money up here than everyone else"?

Move up earn the money take your lumps.

Remember, should you finish last, you get the first draft choice...... compared to the other teams in the division you are dropping back to.

I would expect you to earn considerably more in DI than in DII, because the fans are much more interested in buying tickets.

This only holds if his area is big enough. Mine, for example, has been designed to be full at max prices in DII (which, one may argue, has been optimal up to now). So I am lucky I have some spare cash to extend it a bit, otherwise the only benefit I get from promotion is a 40% tax instead of a 25% tax...

You can't expect BB's holding the hands of every user to make them expand their stadium/adjust their ticket prices.
Every user has to use his brain cells to see which possibilities his fanbase is offering.
(btw, I still think max prices isn't always the way to go)

One may also argue that it is not optimal. If a stadium has room for fan growth, then a franchise is ready for a sudden winning streak. Perhaps.

One may also argue that the only benefit you get from promotion is a tax. You also get the benfit of promotion. If one chooses to be pleased only by financial reward, then promotion might mean nothing. If one chooses to be pleased by achievement, then promotion might be a benefit.

It is kind of hard to go on a "sudden winning streak" when your record is 21-1 for a second season in a row. Therefore, one cannot argue what you suggest. Or at least not in my particular case.

Plus, it's not like I haven't upgraded my arena at all. It's been expanded from 5,000 to 7,000 in 2 seasons of play, but that likely won't be enough. It is not a matter of financial reward, it's a matter of financial survival.

Of course, if I were a clairvoyant and knew that they were planning to implement measures that favor large arenas, but at the same time time tax me half of my income so that it is practically impossible for me to expand, I would have planned otherwise.

Unfortunately, however, one can only plan for what one can realistically foresee.

Right. I wasn't talking about you but about teams in general, which is why I used 'one' and not 'you'. I thought that was the reason why you also used that term. In your case specifically, opitmal is whatever you choose it be... Perhaps promotion would lead to a sudden losing streak where your arena would no longer be full. If you were to lower prices to regain your crowd, you would be making less money. If you had space in your arena you could lower prices significantly to get more people than before and equal your income. Then again, having the potential to generate more income and not doing it seems les than optimal to me as well, since by not creating more revenue opportunities you are losing money, no?

Had you added one more seat to your full arena, would that ticket have been bought? If the answer is yes, then your arena is not optimal.

hmmm. . .

i meant no offense, but if the only way to go with this is to expand your arena for whatever reasons you are having trouble.

then quit yapping and expand that arena. maybe at first it seems hard for you to recover or something but youll get the money eventually.

i think if you get promoted there is money reward, well i would use that :D

truth is i can already feel the hardship already, my payroll is almost close to 200k and my revenue from home games is close to 300k. imagine that with only 35k only on tv revenue. and i got holes to patch on my lineup!

2 things to worry

1) how to expand arena
2) continue improving my lineup

the only reason other players are really ahead is because they planned well for 5 seasons or so on . . . we cant beat that now, either we make it up now or pay for it later. :D

Plenty of teams are in my position. Since no-one seems to react adequately to general discussion, I thought that providing a particular example would help. Oh well.

And yes, one can have as big arena as one wishes, and lower prices as much as necessary. But having in mind that we were given two viable options, it is mind boggling that BB will go out and penalize the (small arena, high prices) managers while really trying to target the income of (large arena, lower prices) managers without any indication or warning.

I'm in the same position as you. Looking to promote, going to get badly hurt by the tax increases if I do. I have enough cash available to expand my arena by around 3,000 seats, which if sold out will earn the same amount of money after top-division tax as my 7560 seater does now.
