i'm a german manager and also have set german language as default.

it's true. some of us were dissatisfied with the literally german translation, it wasn't enough bball-slang and far from emotional or exciting. so we shook some things up, e.g. included some commentaries of famous german sport-reporters.

the 'airball'-event in the current german translation is the only event in the game, when the ball definitely misses the basket. so we tried to include it. we didn't realize the fact, that there could be any violation of official rules.

it's a pitty, we have to change it back, cause in our translation all players, who had thrown an airball had to pay e.g. a case of beer, or now in x-mas-time some german lebkuchen's for the team ;-)

... a "brick" is not an air ball. It's a very poor shot, usually meaning one with a little too much power and a low trajectory.
Luckily for me in this case the Norwegian is translated like "the ball rolled off the rim". I did not know what to do with this "brick" - and now I do not know how to understand "low trajectory". In my Clue it says; traject="the place where the ferry lands."
Translation is fun and give room for some errors, but we love to be correct now and then.

I think you have all ferreted out that this is a language issue... I can only add that the GE has no sense of "air ball" on FTs or otherwise... I suppose having a miss described as an airball isn't such a big deal.. except for in the cases of FTs. I believe there is separate language for FT misses though right?

I dont think we should program a airball FT into the GE as that is an exceedingly rare event.. at least on the professional level in the US.

Um, careful with that logic.

Someone's going to do it, so it might as well be me. How about those 0% FT shooters, then? Don't see too many of those in the pros. And they damn sure would be getting their share of air.
