I think that each new season everything about game shape begins from square 1. So the number of minutes your players play this week will indeed affect their game shape next week, as game shape is a gradual accumulation. Therefore, scheduling a scrimmage is a good idea to get those players who have not yet reached the 48 minute threshhold to that point and to hopefully get your starters and important players to the 50-70 minute "optimum" for game shape increase. I put "optimum" in quotes because I don't think anyone is certain exactly how the game shape calculator works but I have seen many people posit that somewhere in the 50-70 minute range is best.

I don't think these minutes will have anything to do with even that future game shape.

I mean, I didn't play anyone any special minutes and I wouldn't have played a scrimmage at all if I wasn't collecting flags.

Alright. It seems illogical that game shape calculating would start in week 2, but you know more than I do. I suppose I can see them giving a buffer week for new teams and teams that only played once etc. Since I training team stuff it makes sense for me to schedule a scrimmage to get as many players 48 minutes as possible.

If I disregard your post, then that means I have to regard JuicePats' post.

I'm confused by your post and the rules.

From your post:

As usual, minutes this week only matter for this week.

From the rules:

Players who do not play much each week tend to lose focus and their Game Shape will be sloppy. Players who play too much in a week will get tired and their Game Shape will also be low-quality. These changes are gradual, and will build up over a few weeks' time.

If the rules are correct, then it seems to me that the number of minutes played this week will have some effect on the game shape of our players over the next few weeks.

And if I'm interpreting the rules incorrectly, then I'm not sure why I even scheduled a scrimmage for tonight - I'm training stamina this week, and by playing a scrimmage, I am risking injuries to my players. The only benefit of playing the scrimmage, as far as I can see, is that my players may gain experience from it.

i see it like that, that the actual game shape was affected from the minutes and the gameshape last week. The game shape last week was affected from the minutes last week, and the gs from the week before and so on.

If you play a GS 3 with optimal minutes he will never reach perfect game shape, even when the minutes are perfect. He will raise, but need a few week before he is back in shape.

Ok, I was pretty confident with what was going on until this thread.

So, it makes absolutely no sense to train any specific position(s) this week? It makes the most sense to do team training? What if I have the right number of minutes for SGs and SFs...should I go ahead and do wing training?

Now I'm confused. bah!

It always make sense to train anything if your players have on that position a regular amount of played minutes. I'm pretty confused from that you are confused. bah!
