Daytrading only rises the prices in the market, which is bad anyways. This should be enough already to stop it, which will happen with the future tax changes.

I hope taxes for players who are with your team for less than half a season will be very high.

something must be done, there is a way to stop daytrading...

a) The player must be in the team at least 6 week before selling him again...
c) Set a contract that the player must stay a season in the team.
b) Set a transfer tax and a penalty to the team if the player isn't in the team for a whole season...

something must be done

Why, exactly?

I've seen many people say this, but no real concrete reason as to why.

No I'm sorry that's not true, there are many reasons to limit the day trading, first of all and above all, because this is not an "economic game" where wins who is able to realize more profit, then if we don't stop the wild trading you'll find some teams full of money and tons of teams without money and players, third because I don't think this game was born to advantage people that can stay hours in front of the monitor offering for cheap players and finally you've to think that a lot of people is leaving hattrick for the same reason, so I don't want to suggest anything but don't understimate this matter.

Probably, because there is a guy who earned himself 5 mil, through day trading. Making it hard for other people to sign relatively good players, because they can never outbid that guy. Which makes it unfair.
And that's just one guy.. imagine dozens of these, who spend hour and hours camping the TL.

I think that's the reason. Not sure though...

do you think the guys trading the 500k plus players did this since day 1??

it is possible for anyone new to try and daytrade if this forms part of there long term strategy.....

but you have to build up a working capital in order to do this.... my roster has at times been down to 4-6 people and i have therefore not been optimizing my training..

i will go back to my original point... not all day traders make money and some will be stuck with too many overheads...

fair play to the managers that have made good profits from this technique..

its the same for managers training their players efficiently vs those that don't.

should they also be penalised for having great training regimes???

So someone busted tail to make a crapload of money, that's the concrete reason?

I'm not exactly pro-DT myself, but I don't agree with the "something MUST be done" tone of the thread.

It does seem so if i read most of the threads.
I do agree that daytrading has an effect on the TL. It certainly has an impact, how severe is the question though.

It does seem unfair to the occasional players who just log in once or twice a day. Can't punish them for not being THAT into the game compared to certain daytraders.

Currently i don't really have a clear opinion on daytrading.

Isn't "daytrading" just short term training? Is this in some way wrong?

It's not like there are metrics to measure how close a player is to popping. You buy a player in BB and you've little to no idea how many weeks it will take to pop a particular skill. Plus, the more you train the slower training goes.

I think many people are confusing the situation when recently it's been more inflation than any short term market training. I've sold most my players at higher prices than what i bought them for, without any training, thanks to inflation. Though I didn't really make out cuase i needed to buy a player to replace them which took up any gains I might have realized.

Let the market do what it does, regulate prices. If someone wants to attempt and put the work into short term training profits its up to them.
