Hi everyone! Just started this game, and I thought I'd go the homegrown route even though I know it'll take many seasons! Was wondering what do I do to get started on this strategy? From what I've read, it's recommended that I:
- Fire all but 3 of the players with the lowest salaries
- Invest the maximum into the draft
- Build my arena
- Get a level 4 trainer (superior?), and maybe level 2 doctor and PR person

Anything else I've left out? Should I keep my 18 yo players?

I would recommend you to buy a PR Manager Specialty: Crowd Involvement. It will definitely pay off.

Hi, what is a good way to scout a draft class without any preference of position/height?

I've always had a preference of position before, so after conducting 2 different 10 points worth collective scouting things, everything was clear. But I have no experience trying to find the guys with the highest potential regardless of their position/height.

What are you doing when you have no preference?

P.S. At the moment I have 37 points, and I am getting 4 points every week.

If you don't care about age, do group demonstration + individual scouting + interviews.

If you are only looking for 18 yo players, do scouting combine and if:
a) There are more than nine 18 yo players: Group demonstration + individual scouting + interviews.
b) There are less than ten 18 yo players: Individual scouting + interviews.

I came in the game in season 33 with the project of making a homegrown team.
Just discovered this thread on the forum today !
