I have always wondered this question... And would love to hear other people's thoughts on this... What do you guys consider to be more important or better word how important are cup runs to people in this league? I have found that I have now faced 2 D3 teams, and a 3rd D3 on thursday. And as a result my team game shape (which i historically have done a great job with) is taking some sound hits. My lineup combinations haven't been as steady or good and my overall team enthusiasm isn't where i would like it either. lastly my team is going into tonights game on a 3 game slide! Maybe my team just isn't as good as i thought (which could certainly be true!!!)

But i feel like my decision to give the cup games my actual attention this year to see how far i could really go. Has turned in a detriment to my teams league success. Its funny because i dont know if there is truely a way to do both besides have a team where your bench could be your starters so you literally play 1 group for cup games and 1 group league games. But is there any value to a long cup run (obviously the 50k is nice), but any value to cup success while losing a few league games. Or do you guys feel F*** the cup when i lose i lose let me focus on managing my game shape and league games?

Just wondering thoughts.

To me, in this game the main benefit of a good cup run is to Enthusiasm...obviously that's only a benefit if you PIC. I don't really train youngsters, so I can compete without messing up training. The only detriment is to game shape, since I overwork my starters.
In hattrick the draw isn't random -- the highest seed plays the lowest, and the seeds are reshuffled after every round, so if you pull an upset, you know you're going to face an even tougher game next time out. But the underdog hosts and gets 2/3 of the gate, and the money is substantial, as well as the gain to Enthusiams, if you Take It Easy every time.
I like the randomness of the BB cup draw, since if you win one tough game, you might get lucky and get 2 more easy ones. I've been fortunate the last 2 seasons, and its made a big difference in my league performance, though I wasn't so happy when once in the season's first week I lost all 3 games. My attendance never recovered.

So nobody is going to mention that both undefeated teams fell on the same day while the only game that matters this season is coming up in two days?

Wins and losses at this point in the season aren't really breaking news... lol sorry.

Especially for 2 teams firmly in the playoffs. Now as the games to decide the 3,4,5 seeds begin to take place. or games to avoid relegation series or not take place that'll be breaking news....

That's something a 7-5 team would say.

Your inter conference schedule is actually quite remarkable. You faced #1, #2, then #3, and #5 at home, and get 4, 6, 7, and 8 on the road. I've never seen that kind of unbalanced luck. The top 5 teams in the Great 8 are #2 in the Big 8, and you had the advantage in 4/5 of those games.
