by the way: your problem is the problem of 45k other users out of 50k. i dont know many teams that can really stay in cup for the final4 and promote/win championchips.

in small countries, many teams can do this easily..

It doesn't reset...it goes up or down depending on how many minutes the player played. Play too many minutes or too few minutes and GS will be negatively impacted. There is also a slight random factor involved.

what would be the ideal amount of minutes to play a player to maintain his GS?

You want at least 48 minutes for training purposes and to maintain at least a respectable GS. The ideal amount (for strong/proficient GS) in my opinion is between 50-65 minutes. Other people have different numbers but these numbers work for me. You also have to take into account, the random factor. For instance, last week I had a player with 48 minutes who went up to proficient GS. As long as you aren't below 48 mins or way above (like 80+) you should be able to maintain a respectable GS. Respectable GS being the minimum that I like to have my players at.

I aim for 55-70 minutes. Try and make sure they don't play more then 80 minutes as game shape will likely take a hit at that point.

Funny thing my SG had 112minutes last week and his GS got improved, but as you said random its a big factor here too.

Lets say that 1 of your trainees get 45 min instead 48 then he will get lets say ~75-80%. Its not linear the drop of the % of the training and its giving a big penalty for every missed min

If a player gets ANY training he is a chance to pop in a skill it depends how high his sub level is. If a player only got 5 minutes but was on .99 of a level then that 5 minutes might give him enough training to push him to a skill pop.
