Bah you guys are just a bunch of cynical Old men.
I've always invested money into the draft and have had 3/5 hits even without 1st pick, allow me to show you.
Stuey Faka’osifolau was pick 15 in the season 14 draft by Brisbane Thunder
(18085336) - 12 competitive U21 games and 4 U21 scrimmages
Amedeo Azaro was pick 16 in the season 15 draft by Brisbane Thunder
(19609029) - 18yo MVP SF trainee coming along quite nicely, will expect him in the NT by the time he's 25.
Molly Marsh was pick 6 in the season 16 draft by Brisbane Thunder
(21092754) - 18yo HoF SG trainee that didn't fit into my training plans so I sold him off (if only for 300k) as he was a long term project.
Long story short, even when only investing 10k per week in the draft, it is possible to get great players. Even so, I'd recommend saving your draft points if you'll be finishing higher in the season rankings as you may find a great player but he may get picked before you get a chance.
Then it would be a waste.
