It is getting pretty funny.
But as I said earlier, Dwight Howard doesn't jump far. He jumps high. Dunk contests are more about height than distance. I mean just look at last nights dunk contest.
Jump Range is the best thing we have to determine this. It's obvious just by looking at the name jump range. It's the range of the jump.

Right, but Jump Range doesn't have anything to do with how you
jump, it is an evaluation of how you
shoot. It differentiates the players who can shoot well from close distance only from the players who can shoot well from close and far.
J.J. Reddick is the first guy who comes to mind who is an example of good Jump Shot and good Jump Range. And, athletically speaking, he cannot jump at all.
