I agree that there needs be a random factor, but it seems the current algorithm sets it too high, and one in a million becomes a flip of a coin. Maybe just tone it down some?

This game needs a LOT of growing up to do before it comes close to being realistic...

Bulls 97 - 93 Pistons 11/8/07
Bulls 78 - 85 Knicks 11/24/07

Clearly, the NBA needs to make their league more realistic...

Have you been reading this thread from the beginning...? Because you're comparing apples and oranges.

We're not talking about two teams in the same league - we're talking about one team that is a higher calibre on every level, and that is 2 levels higher, playing a bot team which is worse at every position.

Yes, in the NBA crappy teams can pull off upsets against strong teams - but even crappy NBA teams are still NBA teams and still have NBA-calibre players.

Next time the US national high school champion takes down the Pistons, THEN make your snarky comment. Until then, try and stick to relevant issues - thanks.

I would say that this thread is more about your perception of how big you believe the differences between should be, rather than what they are today. In a few seasons the best teams will start to become good. Right now there are no teams that are even close to "NBA calibre", instead all teams are on a low high school level (or perhaps worse). In other words you are the one comparing apples with oranges.

In that game, I think that American's Offensive flow would be awful, and Greek's marvelous... You cannot say that Americans are 2 levels above, they are better only in physical aspects... The Greeks are better shooters... And play better as a team... I just love it when Americans underestimate some team and then lose:) Go Europe:)

In the game in question, Silver Palominos were only significantly stronger in inside scoring and offensive flow, the rest were hardly the spread that's being moaned about here. Plus, he played look inside which is a higher pace, taking less time to pass the ball around and look for the best shot.

From your post, I concluded that you think USA is 2 levels above Greece, and I was answering to that... Americans are better individually, but basketball is a team sport... One player means nothing...

For Silver Palominos, I think it's very possible for him to lose many of those games, cause difference is not big at all...

The gap between your team and your opponent isn't nearly as big as that.

Upsets happen, and it's a fact of life.

What does that show...? European professional basketball is of a MUCH higher calibre than US high school basketball....it's not at all unheard of for the US team to get beaten on an International level.

Such is life indeed. I had my vent, I still think it's irregular at the very least, but I'm done with the debate and moving on with my season...
