Flyer Sonic vs Bobbleheads

Regular Season game 1: Flyer Sonic 119 - Bobbleheads 98
Regular Season game 2: Flyer Sonic 113- Bobbleheads 68

Big 8 No.1 seed Flyer Sonic faces off against Bobbleheads, an ex SBBL team who might be looking to beat the odds and winning a highly favoured opponent predicted by most to go into the finals.

Flyer Sonic

PPG: 103.4(4th), RPG: 57.2(1st), APG: 24.9(3rd), FG%: 52.1%(2nd)
Peh Jian Long: 24.4mpg, 13.8 ppg, 10.8 rpg, FG% 64.5%, Part of Singapore's national squad

Flyer Sonic is the team this season that has a perfect 22-0 and will enjoy HCA throughout the playoffs. Lead by their twin towers Peh Jian Long(PJL) and Li An Wen(LAW), Sonic has a frontcourt that every SG manager would envy and even possibly sell half their team for. Expect the twin towers and all Sonic bigmen to go to work against Bobblehead's relatively weak interior defence as Bobblehead has only 1 true C in its roster to protect the rim(Gordey Potemkin). Sonic also has been busy in the transfer list bolstering its already strong roster with PG Władysław Smaruj. So far little has been seen of Smaruj's game in II.1 but he has an impressive 8pts, 9 assists and 11 reb game in his last game for his previous spanish team. As long as Flyer Sonic's other role players defend, rebound, chip in a few points and their PGs gets the twin towers involved early offensively, Flyer Sonic will be unstoppable and most probably cruise to victory against Bobbleheads, just like the 2 league games they played against each other.

Bobbleheads

PPG: 111.3(2nd), RPG: 46.5(7th), APG:24.0(5th), 3FG%: 34.9%(1st)
Nicola Veridiani: 40.3mpg, 25ppg, 6.8apg, 2.4spg

Bobbleheads got relagated from SBBL last season came into the toughest II league in Singapore and got into the tougher of the 2 conference. Still, even while selling off some players early on Bobbleheads managed to survive and stay at 4th position. Their team PPG is a whopping 111.3, 2nd in the league, however their opponent ppg is an average 91.5pts, 6th worse in the league. Sonic has a very high FG% and with Bobblehead's mediocre defence, the only way Bobblehead can possibly win is to outscore Sonic in every category and hope for the best that Flyer Sonic's twin towers has an awful night. Full time PG and part time thief Nicola Veridiani (2.4 spg) must pick the pockets of unsuspecting big men and play the passing lanes to prevent easy scoring and backdoor cuts. Expect the game plan of Bobbleheads to be an exciting fast paced high scoring one with barely any defence played. Bobblehead's head coach is also notorious for pushing their players to their extreme limit with crunch time. If Flyer Sonic is caught extremely unaware and unprepared we could see a close game that might be an upset.

Hoop Magical vs Chai Chee

Regular Season game 1: Hoop Magical 77 - Chai Chee 89
Regular Season game 2: Hoop Magical 82- Chai Chee 90

2nd seed and longtime div II.1 big 8 team Hoop Magical faces off against and on off SBBL team that got relegated to II.1 since season 17, Chai Chee. This was supposedly predicted to be a close game that can go either way. However, Yiannakis Sarlis' injury might change everything.

Hoop Magical

PPG: 96.7(7th), RPG: 46.5(7th), APG: 24.5(4th), TOPG: 8.6(1st)
Maties Bover: 33.7mpg, 24.9ppg, 1.7spg, 33.3% 3FG, Leads league in scoring

Only allowing 64.7ppg for their opponents(3rd in league), Hoop Magical plays in your face smothering defence and it has definitely worked well for them giving them an 18-4 record in the regular season. The players don't score alot overall but if the opponent can't either it doesn't matter too much. Even so, Hoop magical has the league's leading scorer Maties Bover. Bover is a streaky shooter that pours in points extremely quickly, bearing most of scoring load for his team. In 9 games played against Chai Chee however, his shooting percentage is a horrifying 38.9% compared to his usual 47.0%. Therefore, in case Chai Chee does defend Maties Bover well again, role players such as fan favourite William Misa, averaging a career low 8.3 pts in his past 6 seasons with Hoop magical, must score in his place. Taking the ball to the hoop isn't that bad an idea as Chai Chee is a poor shot blocking team(5.9bpg). It will be a bonus if Hoop Magical's bigs can get the offensive rebound and pass the ball to Bover, however well or poorly he's shooting, as Magical is not that good getting offensive rebounds. Of course, Yiannakis Sarlis' injury might just give Hoop Magical an easy win over Chai Chee.

Chai Chee

PPG: 97.6(6th), RPG: 51.7(4th), APG: 19(10th), ORPG:13.3(2nd)
Lucjusz Wywijas: 33.3mpg, 16.2ppg, 2.4rpg, 89.5% FT%, 5th in League for FT%

Make no mistake, Chai Chee is in a serious disadvantage stepping into the game with Hoop Magical. Yiannakis Sarlis is still recovering from a sprained knee and doctors still estimates 2 weeks till recovery. If u're a Chai Chee fan, don't hope a miracle sprain knee treatment to be discovered tonight and certainly don't even dream that Yiannakis Sarlis will be playing the game. With that injury Chai Chee is missing 16.2ppg(top scorer in Chai Chee, tied with Lucjusz Wywijas), 5.8 apg(1st in team), 1.8 spg (1st in team). Its a huge void to fill and none of the other Chai Chee PGs can do so. The team's playoff hopes fall on Lucjusz Wywijas and Pedro Cafranga both who must put up monster numbers in terms of scoring. Plenty of isolation sets should ran for Lucjusz Wywijas and Pedro Cafranga since there's no guards that could set up teammates or run plays efficiently. Chai Chee should have no problem is rebounding against a weaker rebounding Hoop Magical team but they have to box out well to prevent easy put backs for Hoop Magical. Besides Bover, many of other Hoop Magical's players have problem scoring, shutting down Bover is a start to an uphill task for Chai Chee to win the series.
