i finished 2nd in div with 20-2, both first and me are elimined. What i have to count to see if i have a chance to promote in III?

I think you still need to win. I doubt 16-6 is enough to get bot promotion. The conference winner rule has been implemented only in the first season of Utopia, I believe.

I don't think that's right. BB-Marin a few posts above implied that the conference winner promotion thing is around for this season, and then will be gone for season 30.

64 spots in D2. 16 of those promote to D1, 8 demote from relegation matches, 16 more auto-relegate. There are no bot demotions that won't be relegated the normal way. So that means D2 has to have 40 new teams next season.

So there's enough room for the 32 D.3 conference winners as well as 8 teams who have the best record across D.3.

In light of the News on the changes to promotion/demotion for Utopia leagues, can we have some clarification as to who is going to promote with certainty every season in Utopia?...Is it going to use bot promotion rules? Some kind of new mechanic combining being runner up + regular season ranking?

Think it was pretty definitive. In the second season normal bot promotion was used for promotion from D4 to D3.

Yes, the promotion from D3 to D2 will work like last season's promotion from D4 to D3.

D4 to D3 this season is another story though, as I already explained in (257780.43). Last season we had bots in B3 which we cleared out. This season, one quarter of D3 teams will promote to D2. Another quarter of D3 teams will demote to D4. This means that we, again, have lots of room for promotion from D4 to D3 (16*4+16*4=128 places, to be exact). There is one problem though - we have more than 64 leagues in D4. This means that not all conference winners will be able to promote. Only human league champions (probable number of those is 68) will have a guaranteed pass, while the rest (60 places) will be filled with the best of the rest - by rank. The ranking used is the usual one (the one used for bot promotion, only looking at the standard season results).

So apart from D2 to Utopia Heaven (for this season only) it looks pretty guaranteed it's bot promotion everywhere else. It's never been confirmed clearly, for this season, I'll admit as much. Thegame187 is in D3, therefore bot promotion should apply to him.

If bot promotion is used I think there are quite a few teams ahead of you as far as regular season record + PD goes. There are 6x4=24 spots in D2 due to demotion and another 12 in order to fill D1 (a total of 36). Aside from the 16 league winners the other spots should go to teams with the follwing record: 3x 20-2 teams, 6x 19-3 teams, 6x 18-4 teams, 5x 17-5 (at PD 366). My checks might be incorrect but there are several more 17-5 teams anyway.

I'd argue otherwise. And for my own sake, I hope you're wrong.

But Marin's posts back up the notion that where applicable, Conference Winners get promoted followed by Bot Promotion. If there aren't enough spaces for all of the Conference Winners, then normal Bot Promotion takes place.

No mate, he clearly stated that the regime you described was not going to be applied to D4 after the first utopia season.

Edit: I must have miscalculated somewhere as I believe that 17-5 with 500+ PD, such as yourself, should have gone up on bot promotion (I had the threshold a little lower, but maybe I forgot other teams)
