Hoop Magical vs Chai Chee

Regular Season game 1: Hoop Magical 77 - Chai Chee 89
Regular Season game 2: Hoop Magical 82- Chai Chee 90

2nd seed and longtime div II.1 big 8 team Hoop Magical faces off against and on off SBBL team that got relegated to II.1 since season 17, Chai Chee. This was supposedly predicted to be a close game that can go either way. However, Yiannakis Sarlis' injury might change everything.

Hoop Magical

PPG: 96.7(7th), RPG: 46.5(7th), APG: 24.5(4th), TOPG: 8.6(1st)
Maties Bover: 33.7mpg, 24.9ppg, 1.7spg, 33.3% 3FG, Leads league in scoring

Only allowing 64.7ppg for their opponents(3rd in league), Hoop Magical plays in your face smothering defence and it has definitely worked well for them giving them an 18-4 record in the regular season. The players don't score alot overall but if the opponent can't either it doesn't matter too much. Even so, Hoop magical has the league's leading scorer Maties Bover. Bover is a streaky shooter that pours in points extremely quickly, bearing most of scoring load for his team. In 9 games played against Chai Chee however, his shooting percentage is a horrifying 38.9% compared to his usual 47.0%. Therefore, in case Chai Chee does defend Maties Bover well again, role players such as fan favourite William Misa, averaging a career low 8.3 pts in his past 6 seasons with Hoop magical, must score in his place. Taking the ball to the hoop isn't that bad an idea as Chai Chee is a poor shot blocking team(5.9bpg). It will be a bonus if Hoop Magical's bigs can get the offensive rebound and pass the ball to Bover, however well or poorly he's shooting, as Magical is not that good getting offensive rebounds. Of course, Yiannakis Sarlis' injury might just give Hoop Magical an easy win over Chai Chee.

Chai Chee

PPG: 97.6(6th), RPG: 51.7(4th), APG: 19(10th), ORPG:13.3(2nd)
Lucjusz Wywijas: 33.3mpg, 16.2ppg, 2.4rpg, 89.5% FT%, 5th in League for FT%

Make no mistake, Chai Chee is in a serious disadvantage stepping into the game with Hoop Magical. Yiannakis Sarlis is still recovering from a sprained knee and doctors still estimates 2 weeks till recovery. If u're a Chai Chee fan, don't hope a miracle sprain knee treatment to be discovered tonight and certainly don't even dream that Yiannakis Sarlis will be playing the game. With that injury Chai Chee is missing 16.2ppg(top scorer in Chai Chee, tied with Lucjusz Wywijas), 5.8 apg(1st in team), 1.8 spg (1st in team). Its a huge void to fill and none of the other Chai Chee PGs can do so. The team's playoff hopes fall on Lucjusz Wywijas and Pedro Cafranga both who must put up monster numbers in terms of scoring. Plenty of isolation sets should ran for Lucjusz Wywijas and Pedro Cafranga since there's no guards that could set up teammates or run plays efficiently. Chai Chee should have no problem is rebounding against a weaker rebounding Hoop Magical team but they have to box out well to prevent easy put backs for Hoop Magical. Besides Bover, many of other Hoop Magical's players have problem scoring, shutting down Bover is a start to an uphill task for Chai Chee to win the series.

Wishing you all the best bro... Good luck... I hope we can play together in SBBL next season.

SaungHninPwint vs Sugar Ray

Regular Season game 1: SaungHninPwint 100 - Sugar Ray 80

SaungHninPwint, another team predicted to go to the finals, goes up against first time playoff team Sugar Ray, who has been quietly building up his roster.

SaungHninPwint

PPG: 115.3(1st), RPG: 54.0(2nd), APG: 27.6(2nd), BlkPG:9.7(1st)
Mo XiaoChong: 22.2mpg, 13.2ppg, 3.9apg, 90.2% FT%, Selected for Season 20 all-star game

Early before even the season started, before even Sugar Ray franchise was created, SaungHninPwint(SHP) declared "SBBL or bust" to all his fans, SG managers and rivals alike. After selling alot of players, even all-star Guzman Fernández, and buying other players, tinkering and tweaking with his roster, SHP arrived to the playoffs with this squad that he thinks can win it all. Sugar Ray stands in his way and frankly this just might be the most lopsided win of all playoff games. Almost every player in SHP outclasses Sugar Ray's. Recently acquired C, Bernhold Mosich, might be put to test against Sugar Ray. Still there might be an interesting matchup between SHP's Mo Xiaochong and Sugar Ray's Zhuang Shirong. Both are scoring machines that can shoot from any range and finish at the rim. In summary, SHP will very likely win this playoff match unless something extreme happens and Xosé Barro will have time to recover from his injury and be ready for his more important conference finals match against the winners of NEWBak Ku Teh Kings and Final Fantasy XIII.

Sugar Ray

PPG: 75.0(11th), RPG: 40.0(12th), APG: 18.3(11th), ORPG: 10.1(8th)
Zhuang Shirong: 40.5mpg, 28.2ppg, 5.6rpg, 2.9apg, averages 51.3pts in last 6 games for Sugar Ray

Fans are thrilled that their new team Sugar Ray made the playoffs in their 1st season after their franchise was created, even when they ended with a 9-13 record. However, once reality sets in, they will probably realise nothing short of a miracle and 2 lucky fans playing for SHP will be needed to win their very 1st playoff game. SHP's Liad Saglovic, Mo XiaoChong, Racimir Opoka and many other SHP players will not, or could not be contained by Sugar Ray's squad 1-1. Double teaming might be the best option but Sugar Ray couldnt possibly double team every position for SHP unless he fields 10 players on the court instead of 5. Sugar Ray's lone bright star, scoring machine Zhuang Shirong, will be looking to score every possession hopefully keeping the game close and final score respectable. But stats from the team averages still show its going to be a monumental task for Shirong to do that. SHP will probably conduct a schooling session for Sugar Ray and hopefully this game gives all their players, Sugar Ray's coaches and GM valuable experience for possible future playoffs to come.
