Well i haven't been extremely active as you'll can imagine rebuilding year or 2 doesn't require you to be checking in daily and when you're losing there's not much you can say in formus!

But i can't be a guy who post awards and power rankings and other fun things on the forum when winning and then completely ignore the forum when losing. So this is a quick chime in and hopefully sparks some end of season convos.

1st off with 2 games remaining i think we need to start thinking on and discussing who WE think is the league MVP. Also put together a league First & Second Team (position specific).

2nd and i usually leave this to my man Frosty but we have to have end of season power rankings before we head into the playoffs. Clearly its easy to look and see the teams making the playoffs but this season is interesting because there are quite a few tied records in playoff spots who's better team and WHY????

Lastly with the final 8 decided (no one can lose their playoff spot at this point) Is it a done deal that the promotion team will come from the great 8? and are they in a 2 team race? Is there anyone or any way the Big 8 can STEAL a promotion bid? Should be a fun playoff as the Big 8 top i believe can all beat each other. And the Great 8 final will be a special game worth watching (predicted to be Tigers vs Philly) but i am not fully ready to say Frosty or Space can't get hot and go on a run.

Lets spark some end of season convos!!!!!

And the Last Lastly.... Draft is coming up. I am interested to see or find out who's investing and who isn't???? we have 2 teams that are new teams that took over teams who no longer signed in. So i believe when you join BB you get 10 draft points and as new members they'll want to use those points but in reality do they understand how the draft works and will they make good ranking choices. Along with that Pearl City seems like a knowing manager i am sure he will have some draft hope. Both New York and Ballstar are active managers with high picks. And then lastly Walnut, Crosstown, and Bucs are ALL extremely competitive managers who surprisingly find themselves in draft position. To give some insight on the BucsBlue draft thought. Unless I have a top 5 pick i dont like spending money and points on the draft. Now if i have LOTS stored up from years of not using them then yes i will take a look at what we are working with. Last year with a final 3 pick i was able to land the highest salary rookie, and a REALLY strong prospect and that was with 0 scouting points invested. I am in a position now where best i pick is 8.... so I dont think spending points to find out our draft doesn't have 8 worthy players is dumb. I would rather stock pile and get to D2. finish with a top 5 draft pick in D2 and then have TONS of points to invest.... Anyone else draft thoughts or strategies???

Great to hear from you! I will be looking at the draft, but I have only run the group demonstration so far. I haven't decided how I'm going to proceed scouting players, or what ideally I want to target. I might just look for a handful of "best availables".

I'm really starting to look at the stat lines on the group demonstration to see what attributes are likely good/acceptable/poor.

Edit...and you keep listing Hilton and I am constantly tempted to bid. If it hadn't been such a bad year at the gate for me, I'd probably buy him. But I'm trying to get over $2M in the bank, and I'm not going to get there until next season.

He's BACK!!!!!!! I do not invest in the draft. I think it is a waste of $$$$. I would rather spend on someone whose abilities I can see and know how I want to train them.

You can get all that info now Smitti. The 19 year olds are way better AND you can choose the skills you want so see.

2 sides of the same coin.

if you save up like 70 draft points, you can scout pretty much every single skill these guys have by scouting gather and shoot, extra pass, post up dribble, on ball defense and cut inside. all you won't know about them are their free throws and stamina, and it's for every player in the draft! then with the remaining few points, you can scout the potential of the top few players and rank them accordingly. saving 70 points for a season which you know you will be very bad and have a high pick can yield an extremely valuable draft. you can even get 2 standout, million dollar rookies. 2 mil for investing a few hundred thousand over several seasons is more than worth the investment. if you have a top 5 pick in the draft, you'd be extremely unlucky to not get the player on the top of your board, and you'll probably get 2 players you really want. you can get 24 scouting points per season by investing just 10k per week in scouting. that's 120k per season. over 3 seasons, that's 360k, and you'll have purchased 72 points. it's next to impossible to not make at least that much back in value with a high pick and knowing everything about the draft. just 1 outstanding rookie would be minimum 500k, with potential of 1mil+. just 1 rookie. if you get 2 valuable ones, all the better. that doesn't count the 2 drafts in which you didn't scout at all, and may have lucked into getting a player *cough bucsblue cough joe hilton cough*

edit: not to mention the perks to training your own draftees as it pertains to over-extension tax and merchandise sales.
