Then i dont understand why you take your team as an example for saying 5th is better than 4th. your not in this situation. teams with lower salary are in this situation and for them it might be profitable to be 4th. I am for example. i could have gone for place 5 but because my salary isnt so high (a bit under the leagues average), i choosed place 4 and think that it will be better for me.


but there are also league where you land around place 5 with his salry, don't know how it look this year in germany because we have a bunch of cheap team in it but the last 3-4 season 700k was around the average bewtwen 3 and 5.

But he should have consider that you alweays had a chanche to get the next round, sometimes it is higher or lower but it exist.

you could easily sell some of your end of the roation guys and reduce your payroll signifacently


there are none ;-) even if i try to get a bit younger by selling my backcourt-backups.

5th is the better option for me than 4th by far

if i had not messed the cupsemis by accidentally playing less effort, i probably had a game next week anyway. in this case i'd like to compete with you in the playoffs ;-)

but as it is right now... i favour to finish 5th. just a rational argument.

of course. your choice. there are crazy games out there. i have a good team, but homecourtadvantage is huge and i had to win 3 or 4 away games to make it all...

dont get me wrong, i like the competition, but i dont have a championchip caliber team yet. teambuilding is still in progress. so i'll take the money, since there are little chances to beat the #1 seed to even get past the 1st round.

It's only possible if the league is not competitive enough. If you are in a competitive league it must be an economical disaster to try to maintain a team strong enough to win the league with 4th place against the HCA. You get only 1/3 every game. How are you going to pay the wages?
