Just a question:
For the bug with the login containing special character, you said to use a function that strips accent.
It's ok, and works properly.
But what about login containing other character like "°" ?

I know a user who was unable to connect, his login was pierrick°42. Someone of your staff had to change his login to pierrick42.

I can't anticipate every possible combination. Special chars in logins are never a good idea.

So why is it allowed in the creating account process ? :P

Just an idea:
If you strip characters accents (ñ => n, à => a, è => e, etc...),
why don't you transform special characters (which are not a letter) into a blank ?
example: pierrick°42 => pierrick 42

Because it would be much more complicated to do (especially since I had that stripping function coded already). I tried to help you guys, but don't push it.

It was just a suggestion, not an offense.
I have no idea how BB is coded so...

Thank you so much for all the job you've done :)
It's 1 000 000 times better now than it was earlier.

No problem, I'm glad we understand each other. I'll think about what you said and maybe one day, I even do it the way you suggested.

Accent stripping for login is currently disabled since we had some issues with it. I'll have to think of a better way to do this and until I do, users with accents won't be able to login. Sorry!

I know it's not the place for, but may i do a suggestion ?

I dont know your structure database but why dont you add a "unique BBAPI ID" (like a social security number) to each user ?
This way you could allow users to connect to BBAPI with their login + access key OR with "unique BBAPI ID" + access key.

The "unique BBAPI ID" would be visible in your profil where you have to create/change your access key.
This way, no more troubles with non-latin characters !

What do you think ?

It's not a bad idea. I'm still working on a way to make it work as it is, but I'll take it into consideration.
