I definintely agree with you that your conference is probably the strongest div III conference in Canada right now.

Fundamentally Sound(33492): Owner of the one and only Denny Hall(18665337) as well as having an extremely dangerous starting lineup and Curtis Worley(19313993), possibly the next Glenn Richards for the U21 team and the monster big man that Canadas NT so desperately needs. Coach Coach is also a great manager with a great understanding of the game and its tactics along with the importance of enthusiasm and gameshape.

Iqlaluit Test Icicles(25029): A game behind Fundamentally Sound for the conference lead, does not neccessarily have the deepest team in this conference, but has some stars and knows how to utilize them and what tactics to use them in. A good starting lineup has carried this team all season. An injury or two could be devastating.

Sony Rox ur Sox(33144): (38947038) that is enough said about this team. The Underdogs, the team that knocked off the most dominant Canadian team in recent history. In all seriousness Sony Rox ur Sox has a fairly deep team and they seem to understand how important gameshape can be, they were finalists last season and had the best record in the league at 20-2. Fear this team, they could easily forget to set a lineup and beat you ;)

Haaa(33272): With the most lethal starting lineup in this conference, they can always be dangerous, but with their lack of depth, an injury really hurts and can the starters really perform playing 48 minutes every game?

Another div III league stands out in my mind and their managers have been real quiet, but division III.15 is a fairly strong league and it contains two Canadian U21 players and a Norway U21 player. My top 4 from this league I think could all compete up a division:

Haylors(25047): undefeated, it is their league to lose.

Bare Bottoms(33368): 4th in the Big 8, but looking at their roster they are a good guard or two from competing Haylors for the league championship. Own Canada U21s current star big man David Castro(16416234) and 20 year old Norway U21 big man Fabian Lidden(18151650).

Canadian Ballers(33464): Leading Great 8, with a strong deep roster, however being ravaged by injuries at the moment.

Sock Pants(33380): Owner of Canada U21 guard Anton Rickard(16416588) and won this conference last season and played in the finals last season as well. They are currently 4th, but definitetly have a strong team and a good guard or big man could put them over the top as a top competitor with Haylors.

I find Division III, the most thrilling and exciting division to follow, because I think it can boast some of the best competition and some really great managers just on the edge of greatness. I find division III the most interesting to talk about as well and am really thinking of starting like a division III thread each year where I can discuss the favourites for div III. :P

Please do this. I would love some D3 managers to be more active. Hell, I would just like some more activity in general.

Word up fellow D3ers. Pangaa... you suck.

Edit: I thought I'd throw in something constructive. Fundamentally Sound took it easy on me during our league match, so his only weakness is the kindness is his heart. Me and Pangaa are duking it out to see whole will get our asses handed to us in a 3 games series but one of the elite teams in the Big 8. Pretty interesting division.

Well tonight in III.9 Fundamentally Sound(33492) faced off with Haaa(33272) in the first vs fourth matchup of the playoff series for the Big 8(39175206). Coach Coach and Fundamentally Sound came out on top, fairly comfortably in a game where both squads used the same effort. Fundamentally Sounds's HCA was obviously a factor, but they were also clearly the better team on the night, as they had better PP100 at each position and had clearly the better ratings. They also played a 2-3 zone which seemed to work in slowing down Haaas main inside threats in Danilo Pangov(15024406) and Choi Siu Yin(14987542). Meanwhile, Fundamentally Sound was lead by young Canadian Star Curtis Worley(19313993) who had 23 points and 14 rebounds, Michelangelo Pisu(6202631) was not able to score very well, but made up for it by nearly posting a triple double, 9 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds were a part of his phenomenal game.

In the other matchup we saw Iqaluit Test Icicles(25029) face off with Sony Rox ur Sox(33144). The cinderalla team that was Sony Rox ur Sox fell 125-118 on the road to Iqaluit Test Icicles. Both teams used the same effort level, but Iqaluit Test Icicles look inside attack was too much for Sony Rox ur Sox and their man to man defense. Iqaluit Test Icicles two starting big men, Henryk Zalinski(12204950) and Adamantios Kiousis(11976714), were nearly unstoppable with a combined 68 points on 29-40 shooting to absolutely take over the game.

So Fundamentally Sound vs Iqaluit Test Icicles in the semis who will represent the Big 8 in the finals and inevitably win the league? Who knows?

I figured I would start my division III writeups now and ill continue next season, but division III teams need more of a spotlight and this is the perfect way! :)

In the other league that I pegged as full with possible division II talent(III.15) all 4 teams I talked about faced wach other, just in different conferences. In the Big 8 it was Haylors(25047) vs Bare Bottoms(33368) in the 1 v 4 matchup. Haylors won the game 105-90(39175266) after a first quarter scare as they ended the first quarter trailing by 9. Haylors Run and Gun offense resulted in their pg,sg and sf leading the team in scoring in a fairly balanced attack. Bare Bottoms lost despite David Castros(16416234) greatest efforts to try and change that. His 33 points, 19 rebounds and 16.0 rating were all game highs.

In the other conference it was once again a 1 v 4 matchup with Canadian Ballers(33464) facing off against Sock Pants(33380). Sock Pants may be the 4th place team in this conference, but they came out and took this game with a convincing score of 104-83(39175268). Canadian Ballers seemed to have some gameshape issues after some big injuries and were not able to make it up. Sock Pants were led by there point guard, shooting guard and small forward who all scored 20-22 points while no one else scored 10.

Can Sock Pants continue this to a possible final against, most likely, Haylors? We will have to wait and see!

I wonder why no one has Mentioned golden phantoms((25087) that team is Quite dominant in thier League( Div III.3) Golden Phantoms May not have the most Dominant player but they have a Very balanced team kind of like the Trail Blazers.

I agree that he has a very balanced team but if u look at the best teams in div 3 they are all balanced and have some really good players that he wont stand chance against........ n i was looking at the teams with the best record from each division and this is how i would rank em

1. Fundamently sound III.9
2. New Brunswick Maddogs III.5
3 Toronto Knockouts III.1
4. Crushers III.8
5. Murfs Blue Devils III.16
6. Venomizer III.4
7. Dream Shakers III.7
8. tiMbiTz III.14
9. Take You Down III.11
10. Georgetown Hoyas III.2
T11. Haylors III.15
T11. BudWeisers III.10
13. Hounds III.12
14. 88s III.6
15. Golden Phantoms III.13
16. Emo Squad III.3
And this is all based on rosters and nothing else and they may not be the best teams, they just have the best record in their leagues

Ah does that roster include the SF i just aquired, and i will be aquiring another one soon as well, so i believe that my team should be ranked a couple spots higher. Well done on the article tho! Maybe you can do one for each Division???
