Congrats to Bret Pollard on breaking the league scoring record with 79 points in a game. Glad to get Matias out of there.

Also, a shout out to the Cliff Hangers for surpassing their win total from last season. They're playing tough defense, and I'm looking forward to watching them host Ballus in a couple weeks.

Speaking of Ballus, I think I've exposed their weakness in my victories against them, but I'm not sure how many teams have the personnel to stop them. I know they would smoke me in a Finals series right now. I'm working hard to remedy that, but not sure if I have enough time.

How can I not respond to a shout out?!

I second that congrats to Bret, I too wanted someone to steal it from that scoring-god-disguised-as-Matias.

It's an interesting season, and I'm glad to be mixing things up (I was notably absent from a certain someone's preseason analysis!). The top 4 teams right now (though who knows who'll be top by season's end) have a combined 5 losses. Three of them are against each other, two of them are against Rogues. They find a way to win, which is an intimidating skill come playoff time. I'm really pleased with my defense this season (league-leading!), but it's hard to ignore that Ballus isn't too far behind in that category but is rolling me in PF, for a big advantage in PD. With Towson beating the Ball Boys tonight, and a big game for them against me Tuesday, its hard to say what the field will look like in a few weeks, but I'm confident it'll be a great game against both Towson and Ballus in the coming weeks.

Ballus is definitely an intimidating team up there on the mountaintop, but part of the intrigue this season is that he has to beat me on my court, if he doesn't and we have the same record for the rest of the season otherwise, I'll have homecourt through the Finals. So, through luck, he has to come through me or I have to stumble in the regular season, both of which may happen, haha. But I wouldn't ship him the chip just yet.

I think I've managed to shift around my finances enough to keep Simpkins around at least 1 more year. I was worried I'd have to sell him. A guy as good as him should not be in DIV.

Now you just need to surround him with a good supporting cast!

If I had your roster, I'd seriously consider selling almost everybody except for Simpkins. If you could have about 1.5 million by the end of the season, that should be enough to buy two good 18 year old players to train. You'll take a beating for a couple seasons, but it will be worth it.

That's how I had to rebuild my team. Sell everybody except Sloan and a couple cheap players, buy/draft a couple 18 year olds and just focus on them. If you single position train young players (21 and under), they improve fast. Lester Hobbs is in his 3rd season, and he's one of the best players in the league, averaging 20 points and 16 rebounds. Clint Aponte is pretty good as well.

Think about it!

I just don't want to get relegated and this division is just so good, way too good for DIV. I tried building a second guard to go with him, but made him too good and he got too expensive so I unloaded him in an attempt to buy a good forward, but then I ran into cash problems and had to use the cash to lower my salaries, buy a cheap trainable player and recover financially. I think I've got my stadium up to a point where it can support me, but I have to figure out what complementary parts I need with Simpkins to truly win more than just some of my games.

Well I guess that explains the CT in our match ;-)

Looking forward to see what happens with the rest of this season... going to be damned interesting, methinks :)

Next week can't get here soon enough! I think we're going to see a lot of competitive games in the playoffs, and I don't believe there is a clear cut favorite. I think I have a good shot, but I wouldn't be surprised if I lost in the first round. Ball Boys is a quality team who already beat me once this season.

Pimps is a good team, but the Cliff Hangers defense and home court will probably be too much. This one may come down to the wire.

I like the Squirrels and think they could be a top team in that conference next season, but Ballus is going to be too much for them to handle right now.

And with Towson going inactive, Georgia gets a first round bye against Louisville.

Good luck everybody.

I'm just looking forward to seeing one of these good teams go. It'll be a shame to see the Wizards relegate though, I've always enjoyed his banter.

This is shaping up to be one of the more competitive playoffs I've seen. I think Ballus is the favorite, with home court through the finals, the best PD, and tied for the best record. With the shocker of Towson dropping out, it's up to Georgia to make things interesting in that conference. It's possible of course, but a steep hill to climb.

As for our conference, what a doozy. Pimps is not far behind from Rogues and Ball Boys in PD. They're a really solid team, far better than one typically sees at the four seed, but of course the thriller should be Rogues/Ball-Boys. That's a tough game to call. Of course you have to go with the home team, but it's a very tight matchup. Rogues has a nasty habit of beating me, I have only two losses and they're both to Rogues, so I have to root for Ball Boys, haha. If I meet Rogues in the Conference Finals, it should be a really exciting game. I lost on my home court not two weeks ago, but my best player was injured, so we'll see what happens this time around.

Whoever meets up in the finals, it should be an exciting series. I still think it's Ballus' league to lose ever since I lost homecourt, but we should see some great games.

I only beat you once, you won the first game. Your other loss is to your first round opponent.
