i was undecided till last minutes about playing my new player for training purposes, put him as SG in lineup. he played 48 minutes as expected, i did not checked if anything is wrong till a few minutes ago. i saw that one of other players has played in that position and also backed up by another, no need to say they are both useless for me. now that my player did not miss the training only, but he will also get hit by the minutes he played tonight. i see some you experienced that, is there anything to be done?

Hi,

I had a scrimmage booked this evening (17568010) and was pretty sure that I set my lineup for it. when I went to check my result it appears my team forfeited with only 1 player dressed.

It kinda screwed up my minutes for this week and I am pretty sure I had set a roster for it. Im not too sure if its a bug but thought I'd report it in any event.

so is it possible to regenerate minutes or we are simply reporting this for future well-being of the game. it would be nice to cancel my scrimmage, at least my player would not wind up losing game shape levels. :)

I guess there is this bug again in my match. (15803685)

This is how I have set the line-up: (http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/2433/beznzvuf.png)

It says:

Lineup: Strictly follow depth chart
Offense: Patient
Defense: 3-2 Zone
Foul trouble: Let them play

How come then that:
1) backup SF, Rubio, got into the match at about 34:00 (2 minutes left from the 3rd quarter) and then at the end of the 4th quarter
2) backup PF/C, Massart, played only 2 minutes at PF (starter PF, Lorca, played 46 minutes)
3) backup SG, Tenasilmas, got there at 44:26 and played only 3:34 minutes

Not fine, is it?

I don't see a bug here.

Those players got in the game when they did because that's when the starters were tired enough. You also had the Let Them Play, which makes the coach completely disregard fouls when making subs, a setting which makes the coach substitute less often.

You had one player backup two positions. Playing just 2 minutes at one of them is not abnormal at all.

So all in all, it looks pretty fine to me.

It may be a coincidence but I observed some unusual defensive matchup during my game. It almost look like defensive assignments from my upcoming scrimmage was used instead. I play a zone a lot, never noticed that positions guarding that opposite players on those places on the court. Could you please check that? Thank you.

SG -> PF
SF -> PG

Thanks for your opinion which I dont share...

I have tried one player to backup two positions several times and this result is abnormal. See my previous match in PL for instance - and those two starters have worse stamina.

And you tell me that player with stamina 4 (starter SF) was tired after 36 minutes of the match? I think that it is normal to substitute after 8 minutes.

That's what I am telling you.

Also, as it became apparent recently, slow-pace tactics do conserve energy -- and you've chosen two of them.

None of my players had foul trouble all match long, so it is irrelevant whether I had Let Them Play or Sit Them, isn't it.

I know they do conserve energy, but why do they do it that much?

EDIT: I will try set the very same line-up in my next PL match and will see the result.

My observation is that Let Them Play results in less subs regardless of foul trouble. My guess is that in certain situations, if the coach cares about fouls, he might pull a certain player earlier in order for him _not_ to pick up fouls (in addition to immediately benching them when they pick up a foul).

For example, the coach will pull your starter with 2 fouls in the middle of the second quarter, so that he doesn't pick up his third (since picking up a third results in benching him immediately until the middle of the third quarter, for example). Let Them Play seems to completely ignore these considerations.

I have never really done any testing with this, so the evidence is anecdotal.

I know they do conserve energy, but what do they do it that much?

No idea, up to very recently I thought they didn't at all.

Have in mind that players regenerate energy in timeouts and at half-time.
