Ive gone from $107k to $85k.

This week my Lithuanian got called up. I added a prominent French guard to my roster. Have some guys featuring on the leaderboard. Win all games and lost 20%.

Now thats considerably more than 20k. So anyone want to have a stab at explaining that?

national leaderboard? Japanese people hate the French?

22k is considerably more than 20k?

I think we have to wait for maybe five or six weeks before making any worthwhile analysis of merch money.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

Yes, you need to buy one of my players instead of waste your money
Merchandising will remain one of the secrets of BB I think

BB-mans made clear - adapt to this. No sense that you have best team all the world, no sense that you win double more time, no sense that your players win all statistics in all seasons, no sense how long your players are in your team, your fans donÂŽt like you and your players and they buy jerseys of 20k sheep from 14. team because he is domestic. You must buy domestic player only. No Japanes players on your level? It is your problem that you are not from Spain ...

Thank you for your story, I know that I am not most disadvantaged now. :-)

I would like to mention one thing nobody mentioned before.
Probably main problem of this changes could be that no one will place really good draftees to transfer list, because training them worths much more than selling. So it will be impossible to buy any and if there will be some his price will be astronomic.

I absolutely agree.

Generally, the problem is that it is hard to find good player I like on transfer list. Passed changes will strongly influence this situation and it will get worst. But I expect that in area of young player it will be the worst.

Prices of draftees will be overheated for long time, as experienced on other sport managers (and BB too), psychology is powerfull a people will spend more money for young players than is meaningful (some of them will leave the game later). Ordinary team playing in logn terms will have a problem.

Another consequence is that people will spend more money for scouting but no better player will come from draft, player will be the same, only money spend for scouting will be higher.

This may be true but only for good teams. There is still a majority of teams in BB that can use their draftees right after the draft or after maximum 1 season training and out of these vast majority of young talented players comes.

It is not only drafts that has risen in price. If I look at price compare right now I would be able to sell older players for more money than I bought them for even if I haven't trained them. This might be an effect of removing free transfers from the market. You might have to pay pretty much also for a $5k 26 year old nowadays so not strange a trainable $5k player is very expensive. My 26 year old PF is suddenly listed as $50k to $300k and said to probably be better than these players as well. Just to mention an example.

Another thing that adds to inflated prizes are probably also that clubs gets richer. Been able to keep a lower salary profile with raising merchandise and so on. What might happen soon is that BB again tries to find some mechanisms to stop the increase in wealth. Some seasons ago they punished the top division teams in terms of arena income to reduce the effect of wealth. Will that happen soon again?

One thing is for sure and that is that it will be of no benefit for anyone if the best clubs will earn much more than other clubs because of successes in league and so on that is mainly based on much better players. Especially if they got the power to replace older players with players of similar strength because of their big portfolio. A lot of the discussion in this thread want to avoid admiting that this is the only reason for BB doing the game a bit "unrealistic" in terms of best clubs not getting much more merchandise selling and similar things. It should be your strategical and tactical ability that should give you success not the fact that you managed to get to the top seasons ago and now have so big advantage economically that you will be able to easily change older players with players of same capacity but younger.

In small countries (like mine) there are very few older player which fit my requirements (or not even in small country, for example now is no one player in TL from any country which fit them). So for me is better to buy once per 2-3 seasons 18 year old domestic draftee and train him in my way to make player which I like. I think every team is able to have one 18 year old player in team.

I think that even in bigger countries it is very difficult to find the perfect draftee to be from your own country. I think that is mainly the drafts that will increase the number of domestic players. This also means that if you want to stay competitive you can't make much of a profit in merchandise from having "country" players. I see no big problem with this. It is a tradeoff between having a slightly worse player but more attractive for your fans or a better player that sell few jerseys.

In real world it actually works pretty much like this in at least soccer. An English player sells more jerseys and especially attracts more people to the matches than a comparable abroad player. This is for sure a fact.
