I also think this is bunkum, kind of. Because of the real situation of mammoth OD + mammoth enthusiasm rendering players like a 20JS/15JR combo guard unable to shoot more than a whopping 18% from 3pt distance over a season of non-LI offence (my own experience). Hopefully, the other counter measures go some way to addressing this.

This is the critical part. I didn't see anything in the changes that will make outside shooting get better. The tactic should not affect the percentage, just the number of shots taken and my guards manage anything from 1/11 to 3/30 from 3pt land.

These kinds of blanket statements about what you can or cannot do in real basketball are simply not true. There are way too many variables to make all-encompassing statements. Certainly a stronger zone is helped by better big men clogging the paint, which in this game translates to SB. If you have a point guard who can penetrate into space, or wings who can split the zone, then DR can be extremely effective against a zone.

However there should be a clear logic that IF opponent is clogging the lane, players should shoot from midrange/outside at a somewhat good FG% - yet they don't. As I and others have stated, you will find TOP shooters that shoot less than 20-30% in outside offenses, against inside D - that makes no sense.

That was the biggest problem with SB and is still a problem with JR, you can train it really high, the BBs will tell you everything works like intended and yet you don't see the impact.

I would expect JS16++, JR15++ players to shoot at least 35% from three, guards shouldn't block that well in this game (sometimes they do, nobody knows why), so how can OD contest those shots that efficiently?

A 20 JS, 16 JR player should hit like 40+% of his threes - no matter what offense the team is running, the shot is is the same - maybe the frequency of those shots should change, but thats it...
