It should not be that for real money you can buy an advantage.

I think it's important to differentiate between user advantage and team advantage. I think it is great that BB has avoided allowing players to pay money to gain an advantage for their teams and this new announcement continues that. Allowing players to buy second teams gives them an advantage in the sense that they can get more enjoyment from the game through competing with two separate teams, but I don't see how this is different from the current supporter program that allowed users who want to pay to enjoy features like private leagues and flag/trophy collecting.

So I'm guessing that since you think it is not fair that users can enjoy the second team feature by paying real money you also think that the supporter package is unfair for the same reason?

Personally I think it is great the the developers are trying to find ways to add to the user experience with optional paid features that do not give teams an in-game advantage.

100% agree with you and I wish more people saw it this way. I was going to write something along the lines of that in response to some of the people, but you explained it excellently. Allowing managers to buy host nation trainees is the only thing I am eery about, but everything else I am fine with. The way I look at this is BB is like taking a hard class in college. Just for kicks and giggles lets say that the college provides you a textbook for that hard class and it has all the information you need in order to be successful in the class. Now you find another textbook for that class that costs money. It has slightly different information but helps you understand the class better and gives you a better opportunity to learn new things and gain new information in the class. It is not cheating that you have bought this other textbook but it does help you become more prepared for the class. Strange analogy and I hope it made sense, but that is how I look at this.

Any updates on how many have signed up for a second team? How about a counter somewhere on the site?

I agree with capping Utopian starting roster. Original players for Utopia should have potential no greater than all-star. This keeps a team from generating early advantage from selling off a high potential player.

I do not agree with making the draft worthless. To get a high pick in the draft requires having low income generation from lower ticket sales and not advancing up divisions. Its not that profitable to make money off the draft as it is to win the league and advance divisions plus a HOF type player may not be in the draft or you may not find him.

I don't think having mirror players makes much sense the randomized is probably sufficient.

Anyway I think capping Utopian starting rosters makes huge sense anyway.

According to the BBs, a poll should be organized after the 20th to chose a name for the "Utopia" league. That poll should be reserved to those who signed up for their second team before that date.

So how soon before the "I would buy a second team if I could help decide the country name but I'm not going to buy into it before I know what the name is, so BB is unfair" posts?
