I don't think trained players will get odd extra pops but the training speed will be influenced by the general level of skills not only by the level of related skills so good rounded players will train more efficiently and monoskilled players slightly less.

That's an interesting interpretation I don't think I read before, and I gotta say it's my favorite so far!

There's a whole thread in global on this called "Cross training".

well this thread contains about 10 different topics but here goes

1) there is a very wide consensus that 2/3 zone doesnt work because it doesnt give your opponent a low enough percentage on inside shots which it should and you get killed on outside shots

if two teams were exactly equal it should be rock scissors paper (dont we all like to think our choice of strategies actually matter)

rng/motion loses to 3-2/out box &1 is close to m2m and beats 2/3 and ins box&1
li/lp beats 3-2 and out box & 1 is close to m2m and loses to 2/3 and ins box & 1

instead this is the situation

rng/motion loses to 3-2 is close to m2m beats out box & 1 and slaughteres 2/3 and ins box&1
li/lp slaughters out box & 1, beats 3-2, 2/3 and ins box & 1 and is close to m2m

2) shot blocking isnt worthless, it does something, but you have to look at the opportunity cost

if you could have a player which of these 3 would you choose?

a) all respectable outside skills and all wondrous inside skills salary $115,000
b) all respectable outside skills and all wondrous inside skills except for sb atrocious salary $52,000
c) all respectable outside skills and all the 13 pops worth of training put into SB was instead redirected into just 9 pops 3 each of is, id and re making them stupendous and the sb atrocious salary $157,000.

i would so much rather have player b or c on my team and it just isnt even close

3) buying championships

it happens but it sucks
in aussie d2 the average salary for a team is about 250k - 300k but there was a team who just bought up hugely, 750k and won the championship
in aussie abbl the average salaries are around 500k-600k but a team bought a team of $1.7 million and won the championship - this sort of stuff may happen in epl but it just isnt allowed in the nba

so well done to those teams that do it but it sucks for the rest of us that the current formula to success in this game is tank for a few seasons and save millions then explode in one season buying a whole new team from scratch and just win everything right away

Saying Look Inside should lose to 2-3 zone if both teams were the same is incorrect.
First, the team playing LI also plays defense, and the team playing 2-3 zone has to play offense, too.
So LI/3-2 against RNG/2-3: Both teams should win?

Second, it's not enough to say both teams are the same. The players' actual skills matter.

And lastly, there is the transition game. You can't say for example, my RNG beats your M2M 8 to 5 but your Motion beats my 2-3 zone 6 to 2 so you add it up and it give you 8+2 - (5+6) = -1 so I lose. If only it was that simple, but defense is offense and offense is defense, and until we have sliders for how much we want to crash the boards or how much we want to get back in transition or leak out on the break, we have to do with what we have and figure out why things are the way they are.

Yes. My plans would have been entirely different.

And yes, I'm annoyed enough to honestly consider starting over. I think it would be impossible for me to not log in for 6-8 weeks, though.

I almost never play RNG/2-3, because luckily there never was such opponent and secondly for you have to have at least two players (SF, PF) which have great ID and JS/JR at the same time.

On the other side it is better compared to M2M, I suppose, because 2-3 its a zone and then you dont need any ID on PG and SG.

So I think that LI/3-2 will win, because it is lot easier to have players in the team for it. And I dont count in that the shotblocking thing.
