6'5 is the cut but the difference isn't that much for a guard that is 6'4 to one that is 6'6...But training a 6'10 PF in OS is another issue ;)

I want what all men want...I just want it more.

I apologize if this is considered gravedigging on these forums, but

What would be the cutoffs for the other positions?

There really aren't specific cut-offs, more like general guidelines.

What I can recommend is heights 7'0 and up if you're training inside skills, heights 6'4 and lower if you're training outside skills, and 6'6-6'9 if you're doing any form of switch training (which you shouldn't really be doing before you're exactly sure what it is that you want to do).

Yeah, I should know by now that there are few, if any, specific cuts (etc.), in this game :).

First of all, what about the poor 6'5" boys? :)

Ok, I'm gonna be doing outside. I have 5 trainees ranging in height from 6"0" to 6'6".
One is 6'5" and one is 6'6" and, conveniently enough, they have the best inside skills of the group.
My, somewhat distant, plan is to try to get those two to be half decent SFs eventually.

Is that what you mean when you refer to 'switch training"?

Yes, you typically need to train future SFs as guards and then as centers (or vice versa). I wouldn't bother, though, if any of them has less than average inside defense.

The 6'5" guy has an average Inside Shot and respectable Inside Defense.

His rebounding sucks, though.

Good candidate for SF?

Sure. Bad rebounding is certainly unpleasant, but if I had to rank inside skills for SFs by importance, it would only come third after Inside Defense and Inside Shot. You can work around bad inside shot with the right offensive tactic, but even a defensive zone won't save you from a player with poor defense.

driving goes up fast thorugh secondary training, and it also a good oppurtunity to train(best for SF/PF) because the player also learns IS and JS with a solid tempo.

The thing i would more worry about is his passing, but overall i think you got an good trainee.
