Gameshape is actually a very big issue. If you don't have a decent bench, your starters will play really high minutes. Fine for one game but at 2 competitive league games a week, your starters will be getting 80+ minutes a week (assuming you don't play your starters in the scrim) and you're looking at a drop in GS every single week. So by the time playoff comes along, your players might have a big salary but with really poor GS, they perform a lot lower than what they are capable of. If you ask me if you rather have 20k players with inept GS or 10k players with proficient GS, I will probably say that the 10k players will perform better than the 20k players.

Also stamina is a big issue as well. If your starters have low stamina, they will struggle as the game goes on. Having a bench ensure they get a bit of a rest during the game.

So no, I don't think a deep bench is overrated as starters need to rest too for GS reasons.

my team has avg 6500 salary
currently 11-0
beating teams with $20,000, $30,000 players
also managed to stay in the cup beating Div II and Div III opponents
making $150k/wk
15000 seat arena
2nd season

i think it's a waste of money to pay someone $20,000+ for the entire season and not win a championship in the end
u r better off $$$ wise just to let ur trainees grow in a season and fill in the role players at $5000 salary

You've built your team in a great way, with 5 guard trainees, not many teams have the luxury/skills to do that..Their salaries will probably get close to 15k each next year,so it's not that the 20k players in your league are much better..

You're doing a great job,congrats!!

I want what all men want...I just want it more.

I agree, you are coming along nicely. What might be worth considering is starting to sell off a couple of trainees before they hit their soft-cap potential (I dont find that people pay top $ for someone they know might be capped or close to capped) and then training your best 3 guys in 1 position mode to really give yourself a strong spine in the 1-3 positions. Either that or vary up the trainees and look for a couple of SF/PF trainees that could benefit from the basic JS/PA/HD pops (albeit slower than your smaller guards) BUT then they would be ripe to switch at somepoint down to the big man skills so again you have some players that can give you different tactical options as you promote up the divisions.

i agree with u
i will mix in some big man
i want to train my guards for 1 more season to fulfill their potential, so i know they can play with any team in Div3 at least (at star potential lvl )

i rarely spend big money on FA, so i want get my trainees through draft in my 1st season in Div3 next season

i got 3 in the same draft , 2 in the market at $60,000 ish
they were just $3500-$4000 players
i think for this game it was great to start before the playoffs in Div V
u can quickly buy a few cheap FA and promote to DIV IV with that promotion $$$
and u can get quality draft picks b/c 80% of the league is bot
it's also a bonus when i got 1 18yr old superstar to sell when i started the game
then it's just 6 player training 48 mins at positions
and putting all the revenue into arena :O

I am just wondering how you can get to sell that many seats? Do you have a high-leveled PR?
