EH' CANADA!!

With word coming out that Chris is not going to be running for re-election, it seems that the NT manager job is up for the taking once again. So I am going to give this NT thing a try :)

I first want to commend Chris on a very solid term as NT manager. The results that the team achieved were very solid, but a bit of bad luck found us facing the Slovakian squad in a must win game. The team also fought the constant battle against poor game shape and in the end missing one of the better Canadian big men really hurt. Chris your contributions to the Canadian community should be applauded, so congratulations and thanks!

For those of you that don't know me and my history I will give a quick history of my BB playing days. Season 8 was my first season and also my first title, it was against bots but the trophy is still pretty. The following season in division III I was a finalist but lost in the third of three a game series. Season 10 I promoted to division II in dominating fashion, and then after two seasons in division II I have promoted to Naismith. During this time I have developed a U21 player who is currently a member of our National team and also trained 2 players that have played for other NT's. I have been a fan of both the NT and the U21 program from my early days thanks to some great managers that extended a helping hand.

As for my platform it is going to be pretty simple: I want to win!! I hate losing at anything so the plan will be to win as often as possible. I am a realist so I understand that the NT faces some serious questions this season, and that winning will not be easy but it is 'the' goal.

On top of that I will continue to be an active member of the Canadian community here and on the off site forum. I will do pre and post game writes ups as done in the past by previous managers. I am not certain how many people have access to these write ups but I will focus alot of attention directing new users to the Canadian forums and the off-site forums. Increasing the activity level of Canadian users is not a simple task but it is one that I would like to see exausted.

The National team has some interesting challenges ahead this season including player selections. There are guys like Wendon who have been the backbone of the team for many season who are now on the cusp. And new up and coming talents like Abu-Kaleel who are banging the doors down trying to find a roster spot. It will be my stance that the community gets involved in some of these tough decisions. Obviously as the manager I would have the final say, but a good manager surrounds themselves with a great support system. I feel this is something that I already have in place in alot of ways, but something that I feel is critical.

If you are still reading, thanks!

Obviously I left a few things out like scouting and developing players. But in my mind these are essential tasks of any NT manager and things that I already do. I have several users that I mentor who I am sure can vouch for this.

Lastly, I feel like I am a decent candidate for simple things like my willingness to communicate with other users. And my passion for BuzzerBeater and the Canadian community. Please let me know if you have questions or concerns about my interest and I will be sure to respond.

Vote BEANERZ!!

What the hell, it is time that I started reading the Canadian forums again. And what better way to start than to throw my hat in the ring as a candidate for Canada's NT. There is never any debate in Canadian elections and while I do not expect to win, I want a debate!

So you guessed it - I am trying to one up all of the joke candidates out there and enter as the ultimate joke candidate. Here is what I promise to do if I am elected:

-I do not make any promises to post anything on the off-site forum. I will when I have time but no promises.
-I will not post anything in the Canadian forum. Anything I do post will be on the off-site.
-I will not be making any efforts to scout U21 prospects.
-Basically, what I will do is manage the team to the best of my abilities and select what I think are the best line-ups and tactics for the team.

A little about me: I started in season 2 and so far I have done nothing spectacular. I managed the U21 in the past and had a pretty disastrous tenure with one of our best teams ever. The best I can say is that I set The Mogul up with home court advantage. My best finish so far is 2nd in Naismith's great 8, where Random Noise simply pumelled me in the playoffs.

I personally detest all the top Canadian managers and I refuse to work with any of them. If you want proof, just look at some of my past disagreements with RIP and other top notch Canadian managers. Ok, I have yet to disagree with The Mogul but I just sense that something is brewing.

So - if you want a crappy NT team vote for me.

I decided to throw my basketball into the hoop as a Candidate, I know what your thinking, and yes i probably am under qualified based on experience playing this game, but on the upside i probably have more time for NT team the most GM's, All I can really offer you is that i will do my very best to get Canada that win whether if its watching every game or arguing with The Referee on every Foul against us.
thank you for taking the time to read this and i hope you take me even slightly seriously =)

I have decided that I will run this year as well, mainly to get my name out there, and try to get 2nd place :)

Here's a brief history of my playing time in BB.
I started playing in season 9, and had a pretty solid 19 year old MVP to start with, which was a bit of luck. I managed to train him up to about a $60k salary, so he was always pretty much the best player in my league in divisions III and IV. I quickly promoted from div IV in my first season, then nearly promoted again the following season, losing in the semi finals (if I won the semi's, I would have easily won the finals). The following season, I promoted to div II.1 and have been there ever since. I have come either 4th or 5th in each of my seasons in this division. I think I am quite knowledgeable of the game, and have discussed many national team related issues on the offsite forum, as I have always been very interested in the NT and U21.

As a trainer, I made my starting center into what he is today, as he was the initial trainee that my team started out with. I could have possibly made him into an NT center, but it wouldn't have been smart because his secondaries weren't very good and he would have become far too expensive. So instead, I have switched to guard training and currently have 2 of the best 3 20 year old guards. Both are HOF potential and NT hopefuls in the future. I am very dedicated to helping Canada become one of the top teams in the world.

As a manager, I think I could hold my own tactically, but I would definitely need help learning the ropes, and would rely on The Mogul and RiP a lot to help me learn everything. If you have any questions, I'll be in the debate thread.
