Pride and bragging rights. Pride in having your own players represent your conference and bragging rights over the other conference if u win. So really it doesn't mean a lot.

It gives a week for the BB's to laugh at you so they have a semi-decent excuse to muck your game shape for no reason.

After looking at the roster of players, I guess the only purpose I can see right now is that it allows us to identify which are the star players from each of the team composed of the series. Aside from that, no training, no income, no fan involvement, nothing else.... pretty much useless as it is easy to spot which players are good from each team already...

I also think it gives a lot of teams an opportunity to train their team in stamina or free throws or game shape, which should realistically be done once a season but most teams don't want to "waste" their training time this way. Having a week with one fewer game makes this a bit more palatable to teams.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.
