what are his other skills? And which offensive tactics do you want to pla with him?

It's not like his lack of IS will hurt him too much, particularly if he's already rather experienced. But you're right in that his layups would become more reliable with better IS. I probably wouldn't recommend playing LI with him, though...

if you afraid that he would drive to the basket often, and try to convert it then without a chanche of converting the shot, i could ease you the player still decide which is a good oppurtunity to finish during the attack(usually they are more picky at the beginning of the clock).

Driving also isn't a drive to the basket Skill only here at the game, it is more like creating his own shot from everywhere of the court(but personally i think the impact isn't that high from this skill).

thanks guys.. he has sensational JS and proficient JR. i'm usually playing outside focused tactics, but i'm thinking of giving him a few weeks of IS (single position) until the end of the season
it would make him a better all around player while not increasing his salary just before the salary update.. however, being pretty short i'm not sure how much would he benefit from that in the long run..

He'll definitely convert more layups but I'm not sure if it is worth digging it out of the hole that it is in right now.

hmm, to get it to mediocre would take a lot more time than i have at my disposal (due to his height).. that's why i'm asking if there's a point tyring to get 2 or 3 pops until the end of the season..
his passing now is prolific..

it'll help for sure. But don't expect him to become a great inside scorer that way; he'll just add another small gun to his arsenal.

He's almost certainly going to pop when you train IS the first week (DR trains IS, doncha know :P). I would say 4 weeks should get him those 2 pops.
