I think this should depend on what setting you have set for the game. If you set "strictly follow depth chart" I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE it when my coach pulls my 18 year old trainee out of the game with three minutes to go because it is a blowout.

But on the other hand if you have chosen "let coach decide" then 20 points down in the 4th it is time to clear the bench and the five worst players should be on the floor.

Or, ideally, some general settings for each position's substitution patterns -- nothing like setting exact minutes, but maybe:

Keep him in!
Use Coach's judgement
Rotate them.

That would help people who want to force the player to stay in for training purposes and those who want to make sure their backups get more than 5 minutes in a game for GS purposes, but have a starter with too much stamina. The fact that the phrase "too much stamina" exists is really all we need to know.

i like it, with the same setting then the garbage time of the winning team.

Because it makes sense, and it makes it a bit more difficult/risky to forfeit for training min.
