bballin's speechHello all my name is bballin and I have decided to run for manager of the U21 Canada team! First off, im sure lots of you are probably reading this going, "Who the heck is bballin?!?" and for good reason! Im relatively new to the scene this being only my eight season as I started in Season 11. I manage Lightning Thunder
(33480). I started off in league IV.22 where i quickly and easily won the league and promoted to division III.12. Five seasons later I promoted into II.2 and this season marks my second season in II.2. Training wise I have produced one U21 player and now NT prospect in Winston Hightower
(12588489). He is a guy who started on my team when my team was formed and will forever stay apart of Lightning Thunder. Otherwise in the community I am an active forumer, especially on the Canada Forums where I like to try and get discussions going. I recently started a new thread dedicated to division 3 and I try to regularily post. Internationally I have created top 10 most expensive U21 players which received quite the uproar in the buzzerbeater community and I plan to continue it. I also used to run an International Competitions thread dedicated to the NT competitions. I may start that again sometime, but for now my main project us the division III thread. In real life I am a high school student living in Edmonton, Alberta. Thats all you need to know ;)
Anywhoo on to the topic at hand. The U21 Canada Team. Over the past seasons Canada has become a fairly strong U21 team. Especially in the Americas. To me we are the third best American U21 team behind USA and Chile. This is all thanks to an absolute spectacular job done by The Mogul who sadly will not be returning for another tenure. Matching what he did is one tough task to ask of someone, but Id like to take the challenge. There are not many things that can be improved on what The Mogul did. One that comes to mind though would be the community involvement. I think that the community involvement and activity is low, too low if Canada wishes to become an Americas or Worlds contender. Whether it would be to offer more support to the newer users, more oppurtunities to help out with the NTs or running some type of contest or games I will try my best to get the community involvement at the level that I think it should be at. Obviously some of the things the Mogul started should not change. I will continue listing the best Canadian prospects at their respective age and of course the BC Toroo 18 year old all star teams. Ill also post writeups about the training camps like he did and post/pre game writeups.
Tactically I understand the game, not fully, but I do. I like to try and stay unpredictable so that when it comes down to a big, tough game I will not be the only making a tough tactical decision. I understand the concepts of gameshape and enthusiasm and believe strongly in those. Im not one to be to confident in myself though and I will most definitely listen to what everyone has to say about our tactics and take into account everything that everyone has to say about the game. Roster wise I would like to start with 10-12 guys at the beginning of the season to save room for any callups and for player saving. Preferably 4, maybe 5, big men and then 5 guards and a small forward type. Obviously at the U21 level small forward types, or atleast good ones, are rare due to the limited training times. In that case another guard or big man will most likely be chosen to round out the depth chart. I also do not like picking two of the same players. If I have one player and i pick another one with basically the same skillset whats the point of having two of them?
Im sure I missed something, so feel free to ask me questions on the debate thread.
Vote bballin! Or your not Canadian! :)
