As far as the current rules go, the money you get for winning the league is a promotion bonus and not prize money for winning the league hence the top division does not get any extra cash for winning.

However, when you consider the amount of benefits you get for winning your league such as additional income from the playoff games, more fans for next season meaning you can raise prices, more merchandising revenue and a chance to play in BBB for more money then you have to say the current team that wins already get a pretty good deal. Adding more cash to the top team would just make it more likely they will be able to hang on to that position. Also, more cash means higher prices all around (although not much) and the general trend the BBs seem to be setting is that they want prices to drop rather than rise.

I like the idea of game 3 on neutral court though. It gives both teams a equal chance and makes it more fair for a team that came from a tougher conference where they do not have a good a season record as the other team.

I just won my Division for the first time & thought, wrongly so, that I would get Prize money. Imagine my surprize when I got $0. I understand the reason, so the best team doesn't pull away from the rest of the pack, but shouldn't you at least get the same as you get for winning the Cup?

the cup is imho a different section, cause it don't generates other incomes(ok also some indirect effect on merch and visitors during league games). But when you have a competive schedule, which can happen anytime and most likely did from time to time, you have to had a third lineup which cost lot more then the 70k you get for an average win or sacrifice league games which will reduce your income also a lot.

Your reward is extra merch. and fans for the next season. IMO that's enough.

Unlike Monkeybiz I like the suggestion of splitting the money of third game of finals (if there is any) based on the result rather then homecourt more than removing HCA altogether. Conferences may be disbalanced but we can say the HCA in finals is more or less deserved* Taking enhusiasm an apprioach into account it could even be better not to have a HCA in first game (as many finalist moreover winners of the first game want a three games series because of the money involved).

*(I actually remember me using specific tactics to run up score in last league game of the season to get HCA over top team for the other conference actally getting it by a two point margin; and it made a difference)

Thats pretty much what I said....so your disagreeing with me is really agreeing with me?

I didn't like the cash for winning the league but I felt that neutral court and money split on game 3 makes the most sense due to the above reasons you highlighted and also in my post as well

No, I don't want neutral court, I would favor 2/3 for winner 1/3 for loser (counted from tickets) swap in third game though. HCA still applied.

Merch dropped $10k. I'll let you know on the fans.

All good points, but when you translate that to the Cup & the money you get for each round etc. I didn't think $300k would make that much difference, especially if the game 3 on a Neutral court would also mean 50\50 split of that gate.

in cup they are no league boundaries (and league is where you are getting msot of the money, so it matters). Although top teams are likely to go far, teams from lower leagues may go far and possibly win it all while having smaller budget. Often by focusing on cup you are losing some momentum in your league (thus somewhat less income) so it is a trade off. When winning in a league means both success and (more) money. So there is little needfor financial bonus to win it all. It is a non issue in leagues other than Div 1 and there winning championship secures you a palce in B3, that's the prize you seek there. There should be a challenge to be able to maintain dominant position and winning next year again (Divs 1 are each different competitevely) to let other to be able to catch up. Savng up for an expensive roster thus will emeger as a strategy here and there, not really pleasant, but hard to find better environment without flaws. My two hellers.
