I like the idea of making communities more active. But if someone wants to do it, can't they just do it? Why would you need to elect someone?

In the french community, we do already have journalists, and indeed, they didn't need to be elected ;)

I won't like it, cause it is i believe a bit hard to find a journalist who will make the job done, through an election.
Also the news page contains important information in my eyes, which could especially with an very active journalist hard to acces or overseen. Also when the journalist, will write about in game mechanics and make false conclusion those will be easily considered as their are right because of the plattform he have.
Maybe proposing regional articles to the BB blog could be an better oppurtunity, or something like a community page where external sites around BB got linked who often have something press like.

Well, if you just do it then they won't have a dedicated bar to write that everyone can see.
