You can't change your enthusiasm for scrimmages. Even if you could everybody would play Take it easy (TIE) because those games do not matter whether you win them or lose them.

Do not confuse the purpose of a scrimmage. It is not to win but to get another game to train and to ensure your players get the correct minutes for good game shape.
If you can master training, game shape and enthusiasm you will beat 90% of noobs.
