I wouldn't waste it all on a single player. Maybe you should try to buy some more cheap players? I would use some of the cash to expand my arena too. By expanding your arena you are most likely making more money in the future. If you are looking for a cheap player you shouldn't be buying 20-25 year old players, rather like 32-34 year old players.

I don't see how that would help me in the long run. Sure I would have a couple more wins next year but after that? Sounds like settling for mediocrity.

Well to be honest you can't get good players who are in their best ages with 400k.

e: maybe one decent but you can't win games with 1 player ;)

Manon hit the nail on the head, imo.

1. Buy a few cheap trainees that have decent potential (all-star to perennial all-star is my recommendation)
2. Buy some filler material for the non-training positions
3. Spend your money on improving your arena

Your arena is the best source of income. Take a look at the arenas for other people in your league and the league above you. If your players salaries grows quicker than your arena, that is a recipe for mediocrity.

Right division IV is a dodle and you should win it in your first full season easily.

If you are interested I will look at your team and your roster and be more specific but here is the general plan.

1) Get three good low fouling trainees all suitable for the same position. Age 18-20 max and best done early next season.
2) Get two solid players for the opposite positions. Age 28-31 and best done now.
3) Keep staff minimal, level 4 trainer is ideal but you don't need more than level 1 until you have trainees.
4) Spend some money on your arena. A 4 luxury boxes, 50 courtside seats and 500 bleachers is a good start.

The aim should be to win next season and have three stud trainees making great progress while doing it. A little day trading as you have already done is a great way to suppliment your income while in division IV.
