He was called up (skill check, I think) and then he was dropped out rigth after that. So he had his 15 minutes of fame ;-) Or at least 15 seconds in this case...

Just means they were scouting, and he got a quick callup before being dismissed again to check his skills.(So no he's not really on the team)
