How about trying a neutral offense like push the ball.

Game Manual says:

Princeton: outside/inside focus (fewer 2 point jump shots), decreased pace

As far as I know, most manager tries to avoid Princeton? Apparently its broken(not very sure).

I've tried it a few times in Scrimmages, didn't watch the games so I'm not too sure about the whole Princeton tactic thing so yeah, but I would interpret what the game manual says as, "good if you have good inside scoring and good jump range". You could try it in a SC and see if its worth a shot in a LG game.. Then again, you might play an opponent that plays all his scrubs so yeah, not too sure but if I were you, I'd try it in a LG game regardless, maybe cause I'm still not aiming to promote yet:)

What I'd suggest is that you have two games coming up, versus the #7 and #8 teams in the other conference that you should win regardless of tactics- try out a couple different offenses in those matches.

Either the guards need to be superior or the bigs have to be a near-perfect fit for Princeton. I've been running it a lot and it's almost like a screwy patient in some respects - different players can have big games depending on the opposition, and I assume that it's related to which matchups go my way. But it's also an offense that is very prone to very long dry spells, especially if you don't have any very good matchups - as I have had happen in the past when I played it before I had players being developed for it. But it's probably not a good fit for the original poster unless his center also has quite a bit of driving, since I don't see a whole lot of inside shots on my players with good IS compared to the number of drives (but that may also be related to the defenses I go against).

I was very intrigued about all the posts about Princeton and how a lot of people described how it was going to work with the right players. Now after trying it and all other outside options i have grown more fond of RnG and Outside Iso then Princeton. Probably just because they both involve my outside focused bigs into the game more then what Princeton does.
It was a long time since i read any of the post now and cant really remember a lot from them.
But i'm still probably more sold on the idea of how the offense is thought to work then how it actually does work.
Lets say your putting together a team for it what skills would be important for each position?
So far all it does for me is show big numbers of 3s on my guards.

Unfortunately, the best answer to "what skills are important" in this case is: maybe not stamina if you have a bench. Well, and the defensive skills technically don't contribute to the offense but they are what helps a team win. ;)

But what I've definitely noticed is that it loves driving if you have that and JS and JR if you have that. My shot breakdown ends up being slightly more jumpers than threes, then a lot fewer drives and even less than that for inside shots. It also needs passing everywhere - and I'm probably a little deficient on that front since I've got a lot of guys with decent passing but no really great passers. I suppose if I had more IS on my trainees (well, two of the three are low at least) I might hit more of the contested drives, though I think that of the offensive skills that's probably the safest to keep low for Princeton.

I think I will try Princeton next game, just for you to know, these are my best players, so I`m not sure if my guard is better than the others, maybe the center is. I just want a balance in my ofense, not just the center scoring, not just the guards scoring. I wanna play inside but also hitting threes

I sold my soul into the LI thing a while ago. But I keep my interest alive by dreaming (often) of the perfect Princeton team.

So... (just to keep the Princeton aspect of this thread alive) in real life descriptions of the offense, it's everyone's ability to drive, shoot the three, and pass that make the offense work. And you want those attributes on every player. So I say: Skimp on IS. Get players with great guard skills in the 1-2-3. At the 4 slot, play a guy who's basically a guard with ID/RB. And at 5, play a big who's a stellar rebounder/defender, can dish well and can shoot passably. Then adjust your lineup to try and get your best 1-3 guy matched up with their worst 1-3 defender.

Bonus: if you also run a 3-2 your 1-3 slots are virtually interchangeable and can be filled with the abundance of combo guards readily available on the TL. Then all you have to do is train 2 weird bigs.
