Not bugs

Chat doesn't work/cannot connect: Try adding an exception for irc.buzzerbeater.org to your firewall and Avast Antivirus (if you're using it).

&The match viewer doesn't work on my mobile device: The match viewer is a Flash based application, for which Android and iOS browsers don't have native support. Instead, use a Flash supported browser like Dolphin or Puffin. Note: Adobe Flash player app also needs to be installed and properly configured.

No or wrong training: *** Your training is not broken. *** (Well... almost certainly. Very rarely, training really does fail, and is quickly fixed. This is typically obvious to a wide range of users, and is not limited to one single user.)

Training is not completely predictable, so there's no such thing as a player who "should have" popped when receiving training. As well, sometimes only secondary skills will rise in a given week's training. This is not a bug. See (78242.1) for info on secondary training. See (100869.21) for an example of the smackdown you could receive if you insist on not listening. Example: (80944.1)

Transfer didn't complete: Transfers can take up to 15 minutes to complete after the deadline. See (110924.4).

Young player stamina drop: Any player can have their stamina drop, even if they are young and have played 48+ minutes for the week. This was announced in a news item (unfortunately no longer available). A request has been made to have this added to the rules. (Example: (23874.1))

No match revenue: There is no match revenue for scrimmages or private league matches. There is no match revenue for Cup or B3 teams which you lose.

Arena expansion taking too long: The estimates for the number of days needed for an arena expansion are estimates. See (30150.1).

Points don't add up: BuzzerBeater uses the American boxscore convention for showing the number of field goal attempts. The number under "FG" includes all field goals, including 3-pointers. (Example: (24565.1))

Not bugs (but not perfect)

Best performances not updated: Individual players best performances are not updated immediately after a match. In fact, they are frequently not updated for many weeks. Also, only league games are used to determine a best performance. Cup, scrimmage, and private league games are not considered for best performances.

Setting your lineup doesn't work in IE10 on Windows 8: Please use Chrome or some other browser on Windows 8 until we address this issue.

Recent issues that are now fixed:

N/A

How to report bugs

To start, read this thread for known issues. Also check this forum to see if anyone has already noticed the bug you are experiencing. Please make an effort not to open a duplicate bug report!

Also, one bug per thread. Don't start talking about a different bug in the middle of a thread. If in doubt, start a new topic instead of posting in an existing one.

Format

Choose an appropriate title for your post. This helps BBs, GMs, and other users know at a glance what recent issues have been opened. For example, imagine you are a getting an error message when you try to expand your arena. "Bug??" or "PAGE ERROR" are examples of bad choices. "Arena expansion submission fails" would be better. Finally, the title should be a summary of your post. There shouldn't be any information in the title that's not in the body of the post.

Now for the text of the report. Use the buttons above the text box to create links to forum messages, players, teams, and matches. The IDs you need for each of those links is clearly displayed on the relevant pages.

If you need to create a link to another BB page, use the "www" icon to create a link, but please don't paste the full link as input. Use only the part starting after "/www.buzzerbeater.com", including a leading "/". This way, a user on any server can follow the link.

One type of link you might want to create is to a specific point in a game. Imagine I want to point out a bug that appeared with a minute and a half left in the Canadian tournament final (3985766). First, I'd go the Game Report/Replay for that game, then enter "46" and "30" into the Fast Forward form at the bottom of the page... "46" since to get to 1:30 left in the game, you need to be 10 minutes and 30 seconds into the 4th quarter.. so 12+12+12+10 = 46, and 30 for the seconds.

Once you enter that information, the match replay relaunches. Use the new URL to create a link (using the part starting at "www.buzzerbeater.com", as above)... (/match/3985766/reportmatch.aspx?realTime=2790). And now you have a link to the specific part of the match you wanted that should work for users on any BB server.

Forum languages

The BBs try to read this forum regularly, but it really helps if the posts are in English. If not, they will do their best, but please understand that while they all speak English, only one or two of them speak French, German, Italian, and Hebrew, and other languages are even more difficult.

You can still post if you do not speak one of these languages, but please understand that it might be difficult for a BB to respond.
