Actually I´m almost 100percent certain that shot-blocking = help defense is as wrong as it gets.

In my understanding, shot blocking means "defense against the throw", while Outside Defense is about positioning, passing lanes and running paths.

it is known that handling contributes to the defensive ratings formula from the Joseph Ka study.

you're probably right about the help defence/shot blocking. Calling it help defence is too simplistic. Stupid idea.
